Damn, came in to check for your post and found nothing.  Jumped all over Fire ML, figured they have more to play for and better matchups.  Anyway, best of luck mate.

I loved the Fire from the moment I saw them as underdogs in this one, mainly for the reasons you mentioned and the fact they out boarded Bendigo 56-30 when they last met.

but I flipped the script at the last minute after reading a bit of press material. Seemed as though the Fire had a relatively recovery orientated week while the Spirit were seeking revenge.

This is what happens when you're in a bit of a trough, you second guess rather than just take plays at face value when you sense you have an edge over the book on a line. I think you're on a winner here and I'll be left to rue not making the play I had lined up all day

That is some serious boarding! Could fall either way, but if the Fire are still ahead at 3 quarter time than you'd think that the Spirit will look ahead to the finals.

just love what these girls have been doing the last few weeks and they should be approaching this last game as their grand final.
 
meantime canberra has rested a couple of girls, including nat hurst their starting pg while a few others are playing a little banged up.

The Spirit is starting to "man" up in the paint, 9-8 rebounding in the third and they take the lead.  Looking good JT.  To be honest haven't looked at the Logan match, but may follow u for a little if you play.

bad luck Gun, Fire looked in complete control the first half, surprising they tailed off so badly in the 2nd, they need to split this road trip to guarantee 2nd spot. Bulleen on tap tomorrow night.

guess the moral to this win is to not read too much into previous stats when assessing a teams' motivation to win via revenge.

nice way to end the regular season but it almost feels like a loss because Townsville SHOULD'VE won this damn game straight up. Had an 8 point lead in the final period and a 3 point lead with 2 mins left but couldn't get it done. The little extra I had on the Fire ML at $3.35 would've been sweet.

the thing about tonight though Gun was, they had no choice. This was IT for Townsville as far as keeping 2nd spot on the ladder.

Also, the loss of forward Shelley Hammonds for the Bulleen (did her ACL a fortnight ago) really hurt them in their loss to Adelaide a week ago, and I thought Townsville's strong front line could take advantage of her absence.
