Did anyone watch that Breakers/United game? Especially the last 30 seconds?
I tell you what.
The game total was 171.5
7 seconds left and United were up by 24 points. The Breakers had the ball. Stockton for the Breakers had the ball. He wasnt doing anything, and Tomlinson INTENTIONALLY fouled him.
Why?
Then, this is where it get really bad. Stockton makes the first free throw, then watch Corey Webster walk up to i believe Penney and whisper something in his ear.
After Stockton makes the 2nd free throw, there is 5 seconds left, down by 22 points and they intentionally foul him??????
Now after Tomlinson makes the 2nd FT, and the total went over, the breakers looked disinterested in jacking up a final shot.
This follows on from last Mondays game, where the 36ers were up by ONLY 6,with 24 seconds left and the Kings dont foul...the total stays under by .5.
This league is rife with fixing...RIFE.

I agree there are some pretty suss looking finishes to some games.. certainly makes you wonder when teams almost appear to be chasing down a total when the result of the match is assured..
as I've mentioned a couple of times here, there have been some very "interesting" patterns happen in a handful of WNBL games this season and last season where a team which is a smallish underdog (< +5) is the subject of a serious betting plunge in the final hour or so before the game, AFTER it is announced that one of their key players is ruled out through injury.. latest one was last Saturday and it was the first time the plunge hasn't won..

I watched the replay of this game the other night because i saw this Rostos and I will admit, both teams applying pressure on each other with less than 1 minute to go and NZ down by 20 was very strange. Wouldn't surprise me if there was something behind the scenes going on in the NBL. Like Jive Turkey said, there has been some crazy things happening in the WNBL as well over the past 18 months which he has pointed out.

So if teams were tied on points by seasons end, it is the differential that decides who goes through.
However this is absolutely no reason as to what happened in that game.
The thing is, if this was the last season of the game and the Breakers were down by 2 or 4 points in the aggregate then you can understand intentionally fouling here.
However, this was the 2nd game of the season between these 2 teams.
I can understand if in this game a player was trying to blow past another and take it to the rim to try and score and was fouled. No problem as teams are trying to reduce the aggregate on them regardless of the un game score. However, what is the reason for INTENTIONALLY fouling when the opposition player is just dribbling the ball out?
Furthermore, why was Tomlinson who plays for United up by 24 points and way in front of the aggregate intentionally fouling Stockton who was basically just dribbling the ball out and not threatening to score?
What was Webster doing whispering in Penneys ear for with 5 seconds left?
You are down by 24, why are you intentionally fouling there?
That game was 100% crooked.
Probably Webster trying to pay his fine he copped for bashing someone at the pub during the week.

no worries bro. You are not alone.. we all have experience huge and hard breaking losses. If you want to make money in the long run, you need to manage your winnings and don't chase loses.
I know, it's easy said then done. I am in the same boat.

Sydney was up by 1 with 8 sec to go... Adel miss and Powell grab the rebound. instead of waiting to be fouled,... he threw the ball away and gifted Adel another chance. He then blatanly fouls Johnson, so that Johson gets 2 FT...
