So we are into week 6 already and the big surprise for me is that Melbourne has released Cedric Jackson. Woodside is out for a long time for NZ and they have now brought in David Stockton. Injuries galore so far but one team that says fit are the Kings. Injury free so far apart Khazzouh. Few games.
Sydney @ Brisbane tonight
Cairns @ NZ
Hawks @ 36ers
Sydney @ Melbourne
Brisbane @ Cairns
NZ @ Perth
Poor old NZ have to do the brutal 9 hour flight from NZ across to Perth so they might be a fade there.
The WNBL has some big games,'
Melbourne @ Sydney
Canberra @ Dandenong (again for some strange reason).
Perth @ Adelaide
Fire @ Bendigo
Fire @ Boomers (Fire on B2B this game).
So on to tonights game in the NBL
The Kings have not been playing well of late, only just getting passed the Taipans the other night thanks to a Lisch buzzer beater. Those 2 games vs Taipans were very slow, painful possessions and both games for the Kings hit just 156 and 121. This team plays fast paced generally, and people in some other forums that I read say that the Bullets play good D but I go off stats, not people's perceptions. The Bullets are 2nd last in points allowed (efficiency) per possession. The Kings, ranked 2nd in the league for offense efficiency. I cannot bet the Kings on the road as favs though, regardless who is in their side. They have Melbourne coming up in Melbourne so a bit of travel of late but I think we see a high scoring game tonight seeing that the Kings are coming off 2 hard fought games vs the Taipans and then the Bullets are coming off a game from NZ which they hit just 70 points and they will want to score more tonight at home.
Sydney Kings @ Brisbane Bullets: Over 160.5

This seems like asking for trouble but I played Lynx -17.
They beat Lightning by 32 at home with Hodges getting 21 for Lightning and no one else in double figures. Hodges is out I believe so I struggle to see how they keep it close.

I have said lately, that I wouldn't back the Kings on the road as favs but coming off 2 straight road fav losses, I think they gather their composure tonight and beat United. Melbourne just released Cedric Jackson, so they are going to be short in the guard position and not good against Lisch and Cadee. Melbourne also missing Blanchfield. Too many offensive weapons on the Kings side and their defense has only allowed 80+ points once this season so far.

yeah thats right mate, Hodges is out due to a wedding commitment. They are going to be very short tonight against a powerful Lynx team. I just fear a back door cover but I think without Hodges, there will be no points from the Lightning.

Kings finally won a game on the road and the Fire won as well. Tomorrow's NBL games are very interesting, Perth are missing Martin once again with injury but the Breakers doing the nice 9 hour flight from NZ across to Perth so maybe no play on that game. The other game has the Taipans just -2.5 vs the Bullets. The old Queensland rivalry has been re-opened. Should be a good game.
The WNBL has the Fire on a B2B going to Melbourne to play a Boomers side off a road loss from Friday night and the Fire are only going to have around 18 hours after this game finished tonight. If the line is right, I will back the Boomers but waiting on line and any injury concerns.

another WNBL special right there.. starting to lose count of the number of games where a key player gets scratched and yet the money pours in on their team - and you know the rest.

New Zealand Breakers @ Perth Wildcats: Under 159.5
I just have to think that the travel for NZ across to Perth and the fact that Perth are missing their man PG (Martin) that the scoring in this game won't be as fast as usual in the NBL. Woodside is also out for NZ and he is the leagues leading assister and NZ did not look good offensively the other night in their loss at home.
