Season is just around the corner. Not sure many people follow this league but I know Rod Steel does.. Rod you out there mate? Plenty of transfers and a new team in the league. The West Coast Waves have changed their name now to the Perth Lynx
Some good WNBA ladies are coming down to Oz as well such as Swords (from Liberty) and Leilani Mitchell (from Mercury) for her 3rd WNBL season now. Laney also coming down along with Erin Phillips. Will post the first weekends play under this thread.

Opening night.... Lets hope for a good season. 1 game tonight followed by 4 tomorrow night. Unfortunately unlike the WNBA, the Aussie girls only play weekends.. Anyways, here we go
Bendigo Spirit @ SEQ Stars: Bendigo Spirit +2.5
Last season's runner up dogs on opening night against a SEQ team with 3 x WNBA players.. Well unfortunately the Stars are missing those WNBA players through injury. Bendigo are getting long in the tooth with 4 of their starting 5 over the age of 30 but they have Townsville Fire tomorrow night in Townsville and there is no way they want to go there after losing this game and on a B2B. Townsville won the league last year and with Batkovic still in their line-up, Townsville should beat them (possibly play tomorrow depending on line). The starting 5 of the Spirit is one of the league's best. The Stars starting 5 will also be a leagues best once they are all back by Allen and Phillips are still out. I think Jarry will play in this game but will have to much on her shoulders to win this game on her own. I think Bendigo win this game S/U but we will wait and see what happens and I will take the points to begin with. Only laying 1 unit to start the season as anything is possible as there have been changes to all teams and don't want to risk that much to begin with.

Rangers have a healthy roster and talent across the floor. Capitals have the roster but not the health right now. They don't have much depth at all and I think the Rangers can get a nice win away from home tonight.
