San Antonio Brahmas -1.5
Seattle Sea Dragons +2
Nice hits, congrats.
The hook win pays the same as a blowout, but still . . . it's somehow sweeter, yes?
Two observations on XFL.
First - I don't like the in-game marketing by the announcers, same as for the USFL. I haven't seen a single game where the announcers haven't said, "WOW, this is EXCITING!" For me it's a little too Tom Sawyer "Gee, whitewashing this fence sure is FUN!" (where he tricks two kids into doing his chores for him, whitewashing the fence, so he can go fishing.) It's too forced. You can't make someone feel excited, they either do or they don't.
Also not a fan of how often - seems like 4-5 time per game - they mention players are trying to get into the NFL (again, USFL does the same thing.) Is it true? Of course. But that makes it sound like their product is second rate. It is just a stepping stone for players but the league should direct the announcers to not stress the point as often as they do, it's a bit demeaning. Sell it as an entertainment destination with it's own value and worth.
Second - Josh Gordon. Mixed emotions watching him. I enjoy it because he is so talented, but also disappointed watching him for the same reason - he has God-given skills, skills that would see him not only in the NFL, not only a starter in the NFL, but a superstar. A career, and millions, blown because of off-field behavior. Such a waste. But he is fun to watch (he'd be more fun to watch if was still with my team, the Seahawks, but at least he seems to have turned things around and didn't end up a Marinovich.)
Anyway, continued success to you throughout the season.
