So, what do the majority of sane Americans want? A fair election. How do we get that? Laws that help ensure a fair election.

Several years ago I moved from Michigan to Nevada. Nevada required to see my birth certicate, proof I actually was living in Nevada, proof I was actually who I said I was.

Moved back to Michigan a few years ago, same thing. Show social security number, prove I was legally in the country ( birth certificate) proof I was UNIMAN (pic ID, marriage license, passport), and two pieces of proof I was actually living in Michigan (utility bill, bank statements)

Then I get drivers license. To register to vote, must have drivers license number or Michigan ID number.

OH MY GOD, ARIZONA IS SURPRESSING THE VOTE!!! an_getaway

    Bullshit.

Exactly. they say Republicans are making it harder for black and brown people to vote. No, it's just trying to make sure things are on the up and up. That's why Democrats want to keep the Covid voting standards in place and no voter ID is  because they can cheat easier. As far as receiving assistance goes, you are SUPPOSED to have a social security and ID to get assistance. But I know illegal aliens are getting tax ID's or using Matriculas to get assistance. If you look up are non-citizens eligible it will say no. But they come over and have kids in the home, so we break the law. You don't think they will bend the law to let people vote if they can get away with it? These are common sense laws.

Wallstreetcrapper, you should move this discussion back to the political forum. I think you have been proven wrong it is discussion worthy. I am sure you get proven wrong all the time with the stance you take in life.

This is the same requirement in the state of Arizona already. This is a non-story really. Just BS to rile people up. an_light

I've noticed that as well. Never any real news link or story on the so called claims to back the BS. None of this was actually proven in a Texas or federal court of law either. I wonder why. an_light

If you look up are non-citizens eligible it will say no.

Courts have ruled against states that block eligible voters.  For examples, married women who change names, young and senior voters without current identifications. Voter suppression is recognized as a far bigger problem than very rare voter fraud.  Historically, no major election has ever been determined by massive voting fraud in the US.

Most illegal immigrants aren't eligible for federal benefits.  A valid social security number is needed but illegal immigrants aren't issued social security numbers.  They may qualify for state and local assistances such as food and medical care.  Some immigrants pay billions in taxes annually which help cover the costs of assistance programs.

That's a lot of "SOME" to pay billions. I don't buy it. And as I mentioned with no social security cards, how can this even be tracked.
