CD Newsletter 18

A first in that week 18 of the regular season has never taken place. There will be playoff threads but for now let's take this time to remember all who have made this possible. HughJ,Sac,Shrimp,Sac,TW,Biscuit,Cy,BWS,Hank,BigD,Yao,iCons,Dub4,ODB,Cake,JohnnyO,Ken,Lucky...I think that's all of us. Hope I didn't forget anyone. If so you'll be rewarded in a later life.

KC -10 @ DNV 43.5 Denver's defense has a penchant for keeping teams well below their offensive expectations. That's nice, now only if they could help out with a little offense once in a while. Too late. However, this is a prime spot to take the underdog in a divisional game knowing that KC won the first game and should be resting players. 

DALL -7 @ PHILLY 42.5 Informant spy #1 (aka Hugh J) says a covid outbreak in Filthy is responsible for this line shooting up by 4 points. McCarthy claims the Cowboys will play to win but stopped short of saying all the top guns will play. If you have any inclination to play Philly, do it soon before we learn that Dak and other important Cowboy pieces will be taking the day off.

Sunday :

CHI +2.5 @ MINNY 44.5 This line says everything you need to know. Translation = The Bears will finish the year with positive mojo and the Vikings have quit. Both teams likely to have new head coaches next year.

INDY -16 @ JAX 44.5 Never ever bet on the Jags unless they're a home dog of 16 to a team who has lost on this field every year since 2015. I love the Colts but they're not geared up to be a blowout team even when they're clearly better. No Jags moneyline, just take the points and say 3 Our Fathers and a Hail Mary.

TENN -10 @ HOU 42.5 The parade of huge road favorites continues. Astounding that the well coached but seriously flawed Titans can clinch the AFC #1 seed with a win here. I'll bet they do it and in convincing fashion against a team which has already given all they have...and it's not much but they tried. This one somehow, someway gets out of hand.

WTF -6.5 @ NYG 38.5 To me this is the most unexpected line of the week. The Giants are falling apart at the seams, but home dogs of a TD to the Redskins? Coach Joe Judge reminded the media yesterday that "players call me all the time wishing they could come back even though they're making more money elsewhere." Judge and GM Gettelman are so long gone. Judge seemed like he was OK but he's not. What a bizarre meltdown. Google it if you haven't seen it. Definitely trust overrated River boat Ron to come out with a team that will at least show up to play.

PITT +4 @ BLT 41.5  Theoretically if they win on MNF the Steelers are still alive for the playoffs but we know the Shrimps are not. A brutal season of untimely injuries, poorly thrown passes, poorly covered passes, and questionable coaching decisions. Word has it that the Ravens recent covid outbreak started at a local flooring store. The manager should be held responsible.

NE -6.5 & MIA 40  Not much either team can do. High probability that NE plays at Buffalo in the first round and Miami is out. Flores is 3-2 vs. his mentor including a week 1 win which the Dolphins had no business winning. Look for Belichick to even the score before joining Bob Kraft for a massage at a non descript Asian parlor in South Beach. 

NYJ +17 @ BUFF Finally a big road underdog, and a team which is clearly playing with passion and intensity late in the year. I have no problem playing the Jets here, they've been motivated by the beard of greatness aka Ron Middleton. Buffalo isn't happening. This team found a way to lose to Jacksonville and was losing at home at the half to Atlanta last week. I think it's time for a beard of doom reference

CAR +8 @ TB 42.5 Arians is another coach who threatens to play the game with his best players (sans Tony Brown). In reality Brady needs some game time with guys not named Evans as receivers. Matt Rhule is a crackhead and will probably be coaching his last game as a Panther. I wouldn't touch this game but if I had to, I'd take Tampa just because their defense might outscore the Panthers offense.

NO -4.5 @ ATL 40 If this line wasn't so sketchy I'd bet Biscuit's outhouse on the Falcons. Based on the line, it's Saints or sit it out.

SEA +6.5 @ AZ 48 Best kept secret is that this will be Russ Wilson's last game as a Seadork. He and Kyler are fixin' to have a shootout for the fun of it. Cyrax Special play the over and use the money to feed homeless people...or dogs...cats? Whatever you'd like. Me I'll be buying more nuts for the squirrels because I have names for them.

SF +5 @ LAR 44 As long as the public isn't on it, this seems like stealing candy from a baby. 49ers win by 10. The Rams aren't that good and they really dont give a crap about playing this game.

SD -2.5 @ LV 48.5 @ points of interest. 1) It's a playoff game. 2) Highest total on the board. We're convinced the Chargers are better but are they? And even if they are will you really trust them not to collapse in the 4th quarter? Another Cyrax special. Play the over and enjoy it.
