It's going to cost em when going up against any good team. I was so ready to bet the Ravens -150 or -1.5(-120) for the 2H last night. Oh, I had a rough idea about 1H/2H splits, but didn't know the exact disparity. This is why many of my Chargers bets in the past have been on the 1H. I thought your bet was a great one when I saw it.
As for Jim Harbaugh, you could be correct, but keep in mind he doesn't have the benefit of the type of roster he's envisioned for his team. He and Joe Hortiz (GM) had limited cap to play with (a reason why Allen and Williams had to take a pay cut or go) this offseason, and also had to restructure Bosa (who was all too willing to do it, surprisingly) and Mack just to maintain a decent team.
Next year they have plenty of FA money to play with. They have to extend Rayshawn Slater, or at least let him play under the 5th year tag for now, and deal with the money on the extension the next few years. But aside from that, they should be able to sign a Tier 1 fa and a Tier 2, along with re-signing some of their own players. It'll be interesting to see how Hortiz approaches this because he's been able to find a lot of diamonds in the rough with his signings and trade (Teair Tart, POOOOOOONA Ford, Elijah Molden, Kristian Fulton, Will Dissley -- not a diamond in the rough, more like a pearl found on the ground with that one), and had an awesome draft (Joe Alt, Ladd McConkey, Cam Hart, and Tarheeb Still, mainly).
But back to the point. Harbaugh doesn't have much of a run game beyond JK Dobbins, and we held the Ravens to a tight game while he was in. The complexion of the game would've looked different had Dobbins finished the game and QJ didn't drop all 4 of his freakin balls thrown his way. (There were two that would've easily extended drives, and the last drop in which he had about 20 yards he could've taken with it. Granted one was a tough one.)
With that said, you can take my homerism with a grain of salt, but I'm excited for the roster next season -- when we're able to build on the Harbaugh/Hortiz vision of how they build out the team. The Chargers are in good hands, so as long as they can shed that injury history players always seem to have. Players seem to love to play for him, and with that they'll always play hard under his leadership. The coaching staff, as well.
