Viktor Bout, the arms dealer who was returned to Russia in a prisoner swap for Brittney Griner, praised his country’s invasion of Ukraine and said it should have happened earlier, according to state television.

During an interview on Russian propaganda outlet Russia Today (RT), Bout said, "any Russian person" should approve of Russia’s "special military operation" and that he would have joined the fighting if he was able.  

"To be honest, I couldn’t even understand why we did not do it earlier," he said Saturday on RT. "Why in 2014, you know, there were demonstrations in Kharkiv, people were carrying enormous tricolors and shouting, ‘Russia, Russia, Russia' in Donbas and Odesa, as well, you know!"

So then all this would have been avoided had Trump done his job in the two years he had left in office

Baish2012 is right.  Media matters reveal that Fox news echo Russian media in attacks on Griner.  Pitting Griner freedom against that of Whelan.  Actually, the choice was bringing Griner home or no one else.  Whelan brother admit Griner release was the right decision because Russia refused to release Whelan.

Much like the Pelosi story, the original story changed, but even if an offer was between Griner and Whalen I don't think letting that guy out should have happened. It's a guarantee what he's going to go on and do.

Maybe neither should be locked up in Russia but there's a reason I don't go to Russia and if I did...I wouldn't break the laws.
