He always liked to stir it up, put a political slant on things, and then immediately play victim it seemed…. Nonetheless he was great to talk football with & he was great with picks/information. Bummer for the forum!

If one goes after someone's credibility and heart, you would expect them to fight back until someone stepped in to resolve the matter and end it. If we base the credibility of someone over 2 weeks, when they have shared 10 000 +++  helpful and kind contributing posts, that is a mistake in my view, but I acknowledge major rules were broken if that is what happened .

I do not like the way society is going with political and social wingnuts having a hammer or getting favors for being a douchebag and piling on good people..... I am mostly a-political and just stating what I see. I am kind and helpful like D-UP, but if you mess with someone like him or me past a certain point, superficial justice is never enough when rats chew on your wounds, or worse, take over the message of what good people are trying to accomplish in spirit. Everyone knows D-Up to be his usual self, when left alone to contribute. Unfortunately, those that bark, defame and lie the most are winning in society right now and its fake, gutless and phony which makes the whole anonymity experience we are having here on Covers and other social media sites, a trying and unnecessary use of time. 

D-UP was never phony up until this uncharacteristic point. Based on what I said previously, isn't it ironic when he, himself, went at people who were harassing him, and then he was punished!

Think about that. Being himself was NOT ENOUGH to see the harassment stop.

I think as a long time member, DUP should be considered a community member like everyone else and then some, based on his regular persona and contributions. We are not saying he is better than others by remaining here and acting inappropriately. We are saying he had a momentary lapse of reason, like every human has. 

In a nutshell, I am proud of my friend as a human being, and at the same time concerned that he is ok from an anger point of view and I also understand how far someone could be pushed before the crap hits the fan, and then, all bets are off on levels of ugliness which come out of any human. It however has to be said that, someone who chooses to act ugly every day is evil and he is not evil here, just a rule breaker. Someone who chooses to antagonize someone else without backing off and is regularly doing this to harm someone emotionally or physically while being phony or hiding behind anonymity, is evil and deserves to be opposed vigorously.  Good should win over evil. DUP was temporarily NOT good but felt he had to push back.

DoubleUp is not evil, and on that basis, he should be considered for a return in time.

 Not sure if he would be. Point was they all were asked to stop. He didn't. He'd still be here if had just listened. He made the choice. He gave out as much as he was given, if not more. He LOVED the attention. It has been going of for a few months. Not just a couple of weeks. He LOVED to incite people. 

Lots of people get banned for doing this stuff. It is what it is.

Stir it up? Yes there needs to be a separation of politics and sport.

He is not an instigator, no way if left alone. Its a weak argument as a human being to assume he does things to harm others with intent, rather than being seen as passionate or proud of his point of views.

Obviously, you are entitled to your opinion, but I don't think someone who 'smells wrong to you' occasionally is reason to support a ban from a community.

I am just here for the sports; I don't really care what religion or politics the person is into.  I respect him and a handful of other cappers on here and he's been around for a long long time.   We all go through bad runs; and no one can win every game.  His posts are a good read amongst thousands of useless ones on here.  I am not judging anyone; I am just here for the sports talk and was also concern about his well being.  We all have opinions and that's just what it is; an opinion.  But thank you everyone for clarifying his whereabouts.  BOL to everyone.  Happy gambling.

Yes, he crossed the line according to you when told to stop. I respect what you are saying, just discussing next steps and perspective. I can honestly say that I knew him to TAKE THE TIME to be respectful and respond (type) in a way that demonstrated that. I rarely saw the dark side like you did. He had over 70 000 posts. Are we exaggerating here that even 10% of them were agitating, political slanted or attacking in nature here? ( 'He gave out as much as he was given, if not more.')

I think it sucks to find out D-up is no longer here. Yes he had his opinions and some beliefs a bit different than mine but he was never anything but very helpful and kind to me. I hate hearing that he will not be around anymore.

In an initial thread post it seemed like he would include something completely unrelated to NFL/NCAA or wherever he was posting... looking for a response or reaction from people. Overall it was completely harmless if nobody bit on it. Not all the time, but I thought it was pretty noticeable. I never really said much, maybe once or twice along the line but people are entitled to say whatever they want imo. It's just a weird place for it lol. I also never said I support a ban, I'd rather have him here too, good information and a fun read most of the time. Certainly an instigator at times, subtle or not.

You guys sound like the alcoholic who still romanticizes about the good times of his early drinking career, while disregarding his more recent intolerably drunkenly obnoxious behavior.

DUP was once a valued contributor to this site. Something happened to him about 6 months ago and he changed.

He became an incessantly whiny, victim playing, self pitying, pot stirring, race baiting, nuisance, not to mention a teller of stories untrue.

DUP was warned repeatedly to tone it down. Even after most of the guys he was always battling with had started to ignore him, he continued his slide into a reality-detached oblivion.

His being banned from this site is actually in his best interest. I would imagine that once he gets over the initial hurt feelings of the event, he will look back and realize that he was on this site constantly and posting in an emotionally unhealthy manner.

The guy was on tilt and needed the vacation. Covers did him a favor
