I've seen it. It goes well beyond a star rating in terms of excellence.
Required viewing for anyone who nonchalantly eats meat, which is, virtually everyone.
You a vegetarian Scals? I dabble for 3 months as a vegan. Then ate a strictly vegetarian diet for a year after that. Got back on the meat last year. Had started the routine after reading Eating Animals. This just got it back in my conscience. I think I'm gonna get back on a veggie diet for a while. Good way to lose weight too.
But Scals, don't think we're buds now. I still disagree w/almost everything you say, even if you are a vegetarian. But kudos to you if you are.

Im in the process of making myself... well not a began.. cause I would eat meat.. if you can show me they lived a quality life and died without pain or in the most humane way.
So basically I will not eat any kind of meat until I raise and kill them myself or something like it... cause almost nobody car of how they where treated or lived..
They all just care about it being hot in your plate on time..

Yes.
And Eating Animals might be the most life-changing and immediately impactful book anyone will ever read. Congrats on picking that one up.
I will not force my beliefs/lifestyle on anyone else.
But if you can read Eating Animals with an open mind and still eat meat regularly, then you have come to terms with taking another species life, however vulnerable and unintelligent, and consuming it for pleasure. Because the 'nutrient' argument for consumption is a fallacy in a country of abundance like America.
Used on Amazon for as low as $3.42. Whether you continue eating it or not, you will never look at meat the same. I promise you that.

Our treatment of animals is Biblically based and is primarily utilizes off of verses 6-8 in Psalms 8 to justify their status beneath us and why they are eaten:
You live in a Judeo-Christian society and even if you are now an atheist the zeitgeist of society has been, is, and will be to consume animals. You are a product of that thinking by default.
This book calls all of that into question in addition to providing the most brutal and poignant accounts of animal treatment you may ever hear.
If you read this book, you will have major problems putting a forkful of meat or a chicken leg in your mouth ever again.
Guys here dismiss all this because they think it emasculates them. That's fine and they can wallow in their own insecurities. You hear the same crap posted time and time again: "Well I love me some steak and I'm gonna wolf one down right now!" or "Put anotha steak on the babie honey. This beer belly ain't seen nothin' yet!"
If you want to find truth with regard to ethical treatment of other species who you share this planet with, instead of exploiting, dominating, torturing and ultimately killing to consume, then you should make it your personal responsibility to pick this book up and read it over the next few weeks.
Seriously, $3.42 can't even buy you a box of Cocoa Puffs.

the whole skinning the dog thing while alive, ya, i'm against that, what the fuck
Have you watched the whole documentary ?
Im talking about live skinnings, tortures, senseless killings, traditions of killing for fun or joy, about 10 billions animals used for vivisection every year in the name of medical science.. ( that was 5 years ago, I cant imagine today ) they should be ashamed of calling themselves scientists..
This documentary is so informative and thought me things I couldnt even imagine..

my favorite band is a big proponent of all this stuff...........rise against
i rarely eat red meat,,,,,,,,,,and it has to do with no other reason than eating an "animal," but for some reason I have no problem eating chicken, turkey, fish,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
i work out a lot as well, which I know is just an excuse- but i try to support the "no cage", vegetarian fed birds................
wish I could stop eating meat as a whole, but it always just seems a little too complicated---which once again---i know is an excuse.............
