The day after hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens lining up across the nation to apply for Obama's "deferred action" amnesty plan .. Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer has signed an executive order directing state agencies to deny driver's licenses and other public benefits to young illegal immigrants who obtain work authorizations under a new Obama administration program.
Brewer's Wednesday order says she's reaffirming the intent of current Arizona law denying taxpayer-funded public benefits and state identification to illegal immigrants.
Brewers order rejects Obama's decree and says the program's federal paperwork doesn't confer lawful status on illegal immigrants and won't entitle them to Arizona public benefits.
She directs state agencies to start emergency rulemaking processes as necessary to implement her order.
How many other state governors will follow the example...set by Arizona on this Congressionally-bypassed amnesty ?

Defying President Obama’s lawless amnesty decree....
Two more states..Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman and Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant have now joined Arizona Gov.Jan Brewer .....ordering state agencies not to provide public benefits to immigrants receiving deferred deportation status from the federal government -- an order that reinforces current state
10 immigration agents on Thursday sued the Obama Administration to try to overturn the president’s new non-deportation policy.
The 10 U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and deportation officers said President Obama’s policies force them to choose between enforcing the law and being reprimanded by superiors, or listening to superiors and violating their own oaths of office and a 1996 law that requires them to put those who entered the country illegally into deportation proceedings.
Obama made clear that the new policy was intended to be a temporary step until Congress passes a more comprehensive immigration law that addresses the situation of young illegal immigrants who have essentially grown up as Americans.
Roy Beck of NumbersUSA, an advocacy group for more restrictive immigration that is bankrolling the lawsuit...called such an approach misguided...and said:
"We're going to do something that's not allowed by law in order to get Congress to pass something which they have defeated repeatedly," he said. "It's just such an abuse of power."
Gov. Bryant also challenged the legitimacy of Obama’s amnesty:
“Being granted such status does not confer legal rights to a person and does not entitle that person to receive public benefits. Mississippi law prohibits issuing public benefits to a person who is not lawfully present in the state or country.”

If Congress rejected the DREAM Act, and Congress is vested by the U.S. Constitution with the exclusive ability to craft the laws of the land, how then can the President simply ignore both the Constitution and Congress and enact this law by executive fiat?

because the constitution is extremely flawed remember? congress obviously has a different dream than his father, have you ever seen a president that cared less about congress and absolutely zero about mending party lines?

We could, establish an amnesty process for legalizing those illegals we feel are worthy of clemency, but to do so would require Congress to enact legislation....in the past those proposals have been uniformly rejected by Congress....
So President Obama with his "We can't wait " slogan ..test the limits of executive power. If Congress ...the people we elected to represent us.......... allows this illegitimate executive order to stand, it will delegate its power to make law to the president.......
If Congress so wished.. they could enact or amend what the President is doing ...but they don't ..they just go on summer vacation ..I can see a lot of Congressional seats being changed in Nov.. [Congress now has a 10% approval rating]...
I believe in Nov.more incumbents will be thrown out of Congress .,,than were thrown out in 2010 ...
We need a Congress, that will represent the will of the people..not one that allows the president R or D to makelaws, that just support his party agenda ..

CD please supply the definition of a right winger. If you are going to accuse me of being something I would like to know exactly what you are saying I am. Until you provide such info and provide proof of it I will consider it a personal attack on my character. Thanks in advance for cooperating with the new game plan.

Sounds like personal attacks Austin- that is just my opinion. I have no power to keep the peace around here. I hope a moderator can rule on whether you are engaging in combatitive and personal attacks in a thread started by another poster.
