First thing I see when looking at this game is that Florida has a very big coaching advantage over Oaklahoma. Bob Stoops and his crew is 1-4 in their last 5 bowl games. That includes one loss by 20 and another loss by 36 points! Not to mention 0-4 I repeat 0-4 in BCS games. When Oaklahoma plays a bunch of lousy Big 12 teams they will dominate year after year without much competiton. Let Oaklahoma play a quality team in a BCS bowl game and they immediately get put in their place. Importent to mention Oaklahoma is 0-4 against QUALITY teams in which I will explain the importance of this later. Urban Meyer on the other hand is 3-1 lifetime in bowl games including 2-0 in BCS games. One game was a 35-7 win over Pitt when coaching at Utah in his first year. The other game was a 41-14 not to mention a very dominating win over Ohio State for the National Championship in 2007 (Ohio State was favored by 7) in just his second year as head coach at Florida. After Florida Gators defeat Oaklahoma this year, Urban Meyer will have HALL OF FAME credentials in just his sixth year in coaching. Simply amazing!!!

Lets take a look on the defensive side of the ball we see that Florida has faced 10 out of 12 teams with a defense that is ranked 40 or better including 4 ranked in the top 15. Oaklahoma on the other side has faced only 2 teams ranked in the 40 in total defense. 6 teams that Oaklahoma has faced is ranked 70 or higher.
The teams in the Big 12 are known for their offensive power. The better teams in the Big 12 in the likes of Texas, Oak, Oak State, Missouri, and TT all have good to above average offenses. They are good offensive teams but the defense in the Big 12 make them look much much better then they really are.
The teams in the Sec are known for their defense. They have 9 teams in the Sec that are ranked in the top 40 in total defense. Compare that too the Big 12 that has 0 I repeat 0 ranked in the top FIFTY (50) in total defense.
Question who has the advantage? The Big 12 teams with all the offense or the SEC teams that play by far the BEST defense in the nation. Very simple, Sec teams that play shut down D. The Sec won the last two BCS TITLE games very convincingly with a combined score of 71-38. In fact in the last two years the SEC is 11-4 straight in the bowl games. It is very clear that in this present time the SEC cleary produce the BEST TEAMS with the BEST PLAYERS in the nation. The SEC recruits are a notch above the rest of the nation and especially the BIG 12. Maybe the most compelling fact of them all is that in the last 5 years of the NFL draft the SEC has two times more first round draft picks then the BIG 12. The SEC has 36 first round draft picks compare to the BIG 12 in which they have17. This clearly demonstrates the TALENT and the DOMINATION that the SEC has.
Simply put DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS
This is the third year in a row that Oaklahoma has made it to a BCS game. Two years ago they lost to Bosie State a WAC team 43-42. Last year they lost to West Virgina 48 to 28 in which WV gained 525 yards on offense. WV gashed them at will last year in which Florida will do much of the same this year.
BOTTOM LINE is Oaklahoma is a good team. They have a offense that looks much better then it really is and a below average defense. Florida is a really GREAT team. They average 45.3 PPG 3rd in country and is ranked 18th in total offense. Not to forget they played aganist 10 teams that are ranked in the top 40 in total defense. On the defensive side they are ranked 9th in total defense and allow 12.8 PPG 5th in the country. Florda has the BETTER OFFENSE the BETTER DEFENSE and clearly have the best COACH on the field. Florida wins 41-24
