So it wasn't a David Stern ratings ploy for double-header game 7's (cause he threw that game to ORL earlier too), or as you mentioned 11 minutes earlier a present from Wunderlich? What really happened was that Phil wanted to give DEN some time to rest up, and figure out a gameplan for the WCF's. That is some mighty smart coaching. I guess he IS as dumb as he coaches. Some of you Laker fans are grasping at anything to avoid the realization that your team really isn't that great.

I agree....i'm starting to realize that they really aren't as great as everyone thinks...now that bynum is invisible they might be worse then last years team, because radmonovich is gone, sasha and walton have their heads up their asses, and they will not have the luxery of homecourt IF they make it again to the finals....kobe is playing well as usual and so is gasol, and odom seems to be playing better this playoffs versus last year....the kid from mich state is a decent spark off the bench now for LA, but not a big deal really at all as far as a difference maker....but they really aren't any better at all IMO then last years laker team, and if they win game 7 they not only are going to be playing a red hot denver team who is playing excellent basketball right now, if they get thru that series they'll be playing a cleveland team who at worst will have only played 5 games tops in their series and well rested.
LBJ, well rested, and homecourt....I think i'm going to toss in a little extra coin on cleveland at +100 to bring home the title....lakers aren't going to do shit and its clearly evident now seeing as they now sport a 1-2 record against a houston rockets team missing their best player.

great post....this series is making it so painfully obvious that Rick Adelman is coaching circles around Phil Jackson.

Exactly and he will get what he wants with the Lakers advancing. All the pressure is on the Lakers and this is when Kobe is at his best.

I'm sure it didn't, but, Stern got his Game 7 in the Boston/Orlando series and having this series go 7 games sets up an "NBA SUPER SUNDAY" that I'm sure he was craving...ratings, ratings, ratings!
Look, the Lakers played like dogshit in the 1st Quarter, but, you can look at so many calls primarily in that 2nd Quarter and beyond...calls against the Lakers that easily could have just played on with no whistle (prime example: the foul just before the half on Farmar when they were at midcourt??? = 2 pts Rockets), no-calls inside where the Lakers were CLEARLY being fouled...not ALL of them were fouls, BUT, there were definitely plenty of fouls that were happening and we heard no whistle, these were the same type of plays that were being whistled at fouls at the opposite end and resulting in Rocket FT's. So, Game 7 it is...no problem.
And like I've said...Celtics looked like garbage throughout the Eastern Conference last season: 7 with ATL, 7 with CLE, and 6 with DET. It worked out just fine for them, this is no time to panic. All the haters go ahead and get back with me IF and WHEN the Lakers are eliminated.
