that should be the new slogan for the Repulsive party
They are very pro life, unless the life is weighed against the ability to access and use assault rifles.
Then these hypocrites couldn't care less about a life.
Only when it fits their narrative.

Look, I'm not sticking up for guns, but you guys are morons who keep spewing this crap from OP.
Republicans can say the same shit about abortions. Either way, it's murder when used as birth control.
600,000-800,000 abortions a year - Dems "It's a women's choice and I'm fine with it, even if she uses abortion as birth control and has had multiple and hasn't learned her lesson and still doesn't use protection"
Gun deaths 15,000-20,000 a year.
Think about those numbers when you spew this crap.
Box this crap mods. Most worthless post

Wrong. If you cannot see a difference between an abortion and a mass shooting, there is no helping you.

Dems want harder access to guns (which I am for) and easier access to abortions?
Harder access to guns should equal less gun deaths
Easier access to abortions should lead to more abortion deaths.
What am I missing? This thread is crap. Delete this non sense.

I am republican, do not own any assault rifles, never plan to. I am sensible enough to know banning assault rifles won't stop mass killings. Already was tried, 1994-2004. Had no effect.
Ban them again, I won't scream, just shake my head at the ignorance and stupidity.
You have the killer, the weapon used, and the killers environment. Focusing only on the weapon of choice not going to stop killings. Cars kill, hammers kill, and where was the biggest mass murder by one person this year in the world(war in Urkraine excluded) WHERE AND HOW? Betcha don't know. What was the weapon?
Mental health care is an issue in the United States, we ignore it until after the bad happens. People who want to die and take people with them difficult to stop once they get started. Gotta stop them before they start! Not easy, not gonna be a pill to stop it. Much more.
I don't see it stopping. So sad!

Book "Rampage nation" reveals that after congress let a 1994 ban on assault weapons expire in 2004, gun massacre deaths increased 239%. By contrast, after 1994 ban on assault weapons took effect, number of gun massacre deaths decreased by 43%. Decades of research show mental illness is a poor predictor of violence. American psychiatric association says shooting by mentally ill people represents under 1% of all gun homicides. But simply blaming the mentally ill ignores bigger threat from sane population.

crickets. No reasonable response of course.

How many gun homicides are committed with legally purchased guns?
And of all the homicides committed, how many perpetrators are given comprehensive psych evals?
How many gangbangers have access to comprehensive mental health care? Do you really believe that if they did have access, many wouldn't be diagnosable?
How many mass shooters have never seen a mental health professional, and are subsequently killed/take their own lives before being evaluated?
What seems to tie all these shooters together? Not race. Not age. Not nature of their targets. Their all isolated. Lonely. Social outcasts. Look at the Virginia Tech shooter, an incel that wanted to kill pretty girls. Look at the Sandy Hook shooter. Look at the Columbine shooters. Looking at the Aurora movie theatre shooter. Look at this latest shooter. Outcast. Bullied his entire life.
These aren't well adjusted individuals, living productive lives complete with friends and/or significant others. They could have all used some mental healthcare. We all do. Mental healthcare should be looked at as any medical preventative maintenance, just as going for a check up. There's this stigma attached though, so nobody seeks help until they have a breakdown. Well, sometimes that breakdown ends in bloodshed.
And now, when these things happen, everyone rushes to say, "Mental health had nothing to do with it. Blah, blah, blah. 1% of cases." They never mention how many of the perpetrators had ever been evaluated prior to their violent acts. I get it. They don't want to further stigmatize the mentally ill. However it's not helping. If you want to believe that these are all perfectly sane individuals, that guns and only guns are the issue, then go right ahead but we all know that makes no sense.
Do you think this bullied, isolated kid was completely mentally healthy? Yes or no? His life ended before being evaluated so we'll never know. And it will remain another case where the shooter wasn't suffering from mental illness. Do you really believe that though?

Wants us to believe that perfectly sane people just decide to start shooting shit up. Schools, concerts, nightclubs, just wherever. Perfectly sane, unprovoked, just doing it because. It's the video games, right?

Fake story is fake.
A 18 year old working at a fast food place does not own two AR 15s. And you're supposed to believe he drove that truck too?
Shoot his grandma...yet she lives lol, to call cops.. who do nothing, and he conveniently kills himself....yet no one ever sees any of th rest of the gun battle or shooting.
Another staged event for gun control agenda

There is overwhelming evidences, including witness testimony, news reports and government investigations, that prove mass shooting happened. Conspiracy theories that label real crises as fake far outnumber actual false flag events. Previously, families of Sandy Hook victims won defamation lawsuit against Alex Jones who claims school shooting is a hoax.

A fake story would be you ever being with a woman. You're the next active shooter to play the Price is Right. You're a sad piece of shit of a human, and a incel to boot

Funny, first we're talking MASS SHOOTINGS then to fit your narrative you go to all violence and all gun homicides. The subject is mass shootings.
Believe Stu hit it right in post #16.
There are so many ways we need to attack this issue of mass shootings. Making weapons harder to obtain is one of them, I agree. So much more. We have a culture of violence. Kids who display disturbing trends are glanced at and then ignored. Why, because many move on while that one in a thousand goes bad. I say we need to see it coming, act rather than react.

@UNIMAN
We ignore it because even now, mental health is the elephant in the room nobody wants to talk about. We don't talk about it so it becomes stigmatized. And because of the stigma attached, even those with access to mental healthcare avoid it. People then go undiagnosed. Then when a mass shooting happen, people are quick to trumpet percentages as they pertain to the mentally ill perpetrating said crimes. When Buffalo happened, the story was racism. When this happened, it became gun control again. I am all for more stringent background checks. I stopped renewing my membership to the NRA for this very topic but we can't simply act like these are healthy and sane individuals, and that guns are the only problem.
Look at all the overdoses in this country. Are those all healthy and sane people who just enjoy drugs or are they self medicating? Look at all the suicides. Are those healthy and sane individuals who are simply to lazy to live? When this stuff happens, we never want to confront the mental health of the attacker when outwardly they have, at very least, symptoms of clinical depression. Some seem to be suffering from other ailments and I'll stop there being that I am not a doctor but the M.O. seems to be the attacker in never seen by a doctor, so they are never diagnosed. The when the attack happens people say, "Mental health had nothing to do with it." Bullshit. Mentally healthy individuals don't shoot up elementary schools.
