Let's talk productively then.

But before we begin, let me begin by addressing that Eddie Jones averaged 20.1 points in the 99-2000 season. He is averaging 3.6 points this season.

Tampa Bay is a great pick. Edwin Jackson was scheduled to start and was catching 10 cents less than Mr. Sonnanstine is this evening. What are they thinking? This line should be Kennedy -165 at the very most. Toronto is a decent pick. I don't see how you can bet Oakland -105 and Florida -114. Those are 50-50 bets in the long run.

That's how gambling is. I know Eddie Jones personally. He still think he has it in him. The same can be said for GameHunter, but that is far from the case. He is washed up and his methods that worked in previous years are useless this year.

TAMPA BAY +192 (L) (1 UNIT) - I like Sonnanstine a lot more than the marketplace in general. He has even better control than Shields and I thought he was sharp late last season. He was the victim of weird scheduling late last season. 4 of his last 9 starts were against the Red Sox and he was roughed up in the last three after a quality start in the first matchup against the Sox. In his last 5 non-Red Sox starts last season, he was 4-1 and threw 31 innings and allowed 28 hits, 9 earned runs and had a 30:5 K:BB ratio for a 1.06 WHIP and 2.61 ERA. He was solid this spring and with Tampa's defense improved by about a half a run a game, I think he will improve dramatically. On August 31, 2007, Sonnanstine walked into Yankee Stadium and threw 8 innings and allowed just 2 hits, no earned runs and didn't walk a batter in a 9-1 Tampa win. He shouldn't be intimidated and this price is ridiculous.

UNDER KC/MINNY 8.5 (-102) (1.75 UNITS) - Scott Baker dominated the Royals last season and almost no hit them. In three starts, he tossed 22.2 innings and allowed 13 hits, 4 earned runs and had a 20:2 K:BB ratio and 1.59 ERA. John Bale is a strong lefty who has shown excellent peripherals in his brief stint with KC and over in Japan. Minny isn't the same against leftties and got shutdown by southpaw Joe Saunders two nights ago 1-0. Minny is 19-4 under as a home favorite of -125 to -150 over the last 2 seasons. KC is 18-5 under as a road underdog of +125 to +150 over the last 2 seasons.

PHILADELPHIA +102 (1.5 UNITS) - Solid price on the better team that likes this ballpark. Philly is 5-1 the past two years at great American Ballpark. Josh Fogg has struggled against Philly hitters, particularly Geoff Jenkins who has owned him.  Overall, Phils' hitters are 38 for 91 (.418) with 7 HR's and 24 RBI's. Kendrick was consistent last season and always kept the Phillies in games. As a side note, he was also part of one of the best baseball practical jokes of all-time this spring when the whole team set him up that he was traded to Japan. (Youtube it.)

Game.....I'm a Phils fan, and that prank was unbelievable. They had the press in on it and Charlie Manuel was the key to putting the whole thing together. If I were Kendrick.....I would scheme for most of the season and let everyone know that paybacks are hell. They even had his agent involved. The funniest part was they told him that he was traded for Mirakoshi, the Hot Dog eating Champ.

i'm a little leary of the phillies due to their history of starting slowly....10-14 in april the last two seasons with high hopes coming in.....that's the opposite of the padres pretty much who have a history of getting out of the gate quickly.....i mention them as well b/c you have gone against them 3 out of 4 games (1 of them i agreed with you on), and the one win out of the 3 was a very lucky win.  obviously those things can change, but certainly something to consider going forward.

correction on the padres, their april records have been 13-13 and 9-15 the last two seasons, it has been may that they have done well in the last 3 seasons.
