MILWAUKEE - A lot of people will jump on Harang, but he has struggled against many Brewer hitters and Villanueva is solid and is also a very profitable pitcher. Good value at home.
TB - Batista did not look right in his last start. Had no command of his pitches and consistently missed spots. Seattle had him relieve once last week, warm up mid-game twice and keeps tinkering with the idea of him closing until Putz returns. It is messing with his psyche. Edwin Jackson has all the tools to be a very solid pitcher. He was outstanding in the opener at Yankee Stadium. Maybe we're finally seeing some of the potential they have talked about for years.
UNDER ATL/COL - Francis was 8-0 last year in day games with a 2.48 ERA and has always been better in daylight. Hudson has two ingredients to stay under at Coors. He doesn't walk batters (none in his first two starts) and he is one of the toughest NL pitchers to go yard on. Colorado is still averaging less than 3.5 runs a game.
OVER MINNY/CHISOX - Two pitchers that can implode at any moment. COntreras was smacked around in his last 2 starts against Minny and Livan is HR prone and this is one of the best HR parks in the majors.
UNDER STL/SF - Correia is under the radar but very effective. SF has a minor league umpire. Wainright is rightfully the Cards' ace and looked solid on opening day.
OVER BOS/DET - Two pitchers with rough numbers against opponents. I expect Detroit's bats to heat up a bit. Robertson really struggled opening day and Wake will need to find rhythm with a new catcher.
