1 vs 8, yet the line is just 6.5? To me, this is a total disrespect of Miami, as well as an overreaction to recency bias for Atlanta. Let's not underestimate just how huge a loss Capela's injury will be for the Hawks, he's their main motor in the paint for easy pick and rolls, offensive and defensive boars, and can be a neutralizer versus Adebayo down low. Now, with him out, Miami should be able to name their score and completely dominate the glass and the paint. Miami should realize they shut down everyone not named Trae, they should win easily because 1 vs 5 rarely ends well for a road team in playoff basketball. Statement game here for the Heat, just to give the Monday morning sports talk media something to talk about just how overlooked and flying under the radar Miami is right now. 15+ point win is how I see this going, I just hope they double padlock the back door to avoid any late game garbage time shenanigans. They gave me the dullest spoon imaginable, but The People's Champ  is a persistent professional grinder who took one for the team to allow a nice peaceful detoxification to occur around this place for the past week.

Recap from my handicap earlier today:

This is the classic playoff zig zag concept in effect here, with the home team losing game one, yet the line remains the same for game two. This is typically a situational spot to back the home team as long as no injuries or something substantial changed from game 1. In fact, the way Memphis played in their last game was a total anomaly as to how they played all season long. Thus I fully expect them to have their nerves settled, and ready to dominate tonight, sending a very strong message to their opponents that game 1 was a fluke, as the Griz look to take back control and momentum of this series. I would not be surprised if Memphis wins the next 4 games now.

The Timberwolves played a perfect game, and got maximum value out of Edwards. Tonight I fully expect a major regression in their play, their shooting % to be far lower than what it was in game 1, and even a slight of hand by the refs to make sure Towns gets into early foul trouble in order to assist Memphis get over the hump and win this game with more ease. In the long run, Ja Morant is the type of player the league wants to see succeed in the playoffs from a marketability standpoint, rather than anyone playing for Minnesota like Edwards or KAT.

This series had 7 games written all over it based on their recent history against each other, so the classic zig zag theory is in full effect here for game 2. Plus, the books are offering up an inflated line for the home team due to sheer recency bias based on game 1. Getting 3 extra points here is exactly what to look for in the playoffs when both teams are relatively equally matched.

Toronto couldn't have played any worse, and Philly couldn't have played any better.

I trust Coach Nurse to make the necessary adjustments to have a completely different result for game 2, whereas I have no faith in Coach Rivers to smoothly navigate through a playoff series as a significant favorite.

A lot of Raptors came out tight and nervous in game 1, and that was almost to be expected, as this team really only has Anunoby, VanVleet and Siakam remaining from their championship team. Tonight, I fully expect them to come out hot in 1Q and their overall 3pt % should be much higher to keep them ahead for the majority of the game.

Philly has a classic letdown spot here, by winning too easily, they will be feeling too good about their performance, and very likely won't be able to withstand the opening half punches thrown by Toronto.
