Call the man not the cousin.  Tell him your story and that you need to keep your business between him and you, so that you don't look like a complete douche to people in school.

ok i just texted his cousin..that exact thing i wrote above...ive known his cousin for a couple years and i do feel more comfortable telling him.  If i tell the bookie himself i dont know what he would say.  So now im sure the cousin is telling the bookie what i just texted.  I am waiting for a response. 

I did not mention the $50 a week afterwards..all i said was...Il give you $350 for now.  Still waiting on a response...

I did a similarly stupid thing in my early 20's around 1990.  I was betting penny ante with a bookie.  $22, $33 a game and a brother of a friend of mine had some issues with his bookie and was looking to switch.  Like a fool, I took his bets and put them in for him.  He loses 3 bets for a total of $770 and chases another $220 on the Sunday night and loses that.  First bets I put in for him.  I'm thinking he has a bankroll but he was just a dipshit.  He was down $990, I had won 3 bets for $80 and had to pay my man.  I took about 25% of my life savings at that point and paid the guy.  I was a man about it and took responsibility.  The douche ended up paying me $700 in a few installments but I had to hound him for that over the next several months.  I was in shock for quite some time and gave up betting for awhile.  I ended up dipping my toe back in the next season but then got totally hosed on a bad beat where New England was getting 12.5 against Pittsburgh, was leading the game with about 4 minutes left but Pittsburgh came back and covered.  I saw the runner at the bar a couple nights later, dropped the money on the bar and told here I was done.  Never called her again.

The point is the whole thing changed me.  This should change you.  I realized much later I had no clue how to bet and was better off going through this ordeal. When you look back on this years down the road, will it be a lesson or the first step to wrecking your life?

ok..im talking to him now through text...when i told him il give him $350 for now..he tells me its not fair because he has other people to payup...

now he keeps telling me over and over he wants to meet me in person..and he wants to come to my house and do it...i told him i cant talk rite now

 

Text him and tell him that you will give the $350 tomorrow and don't say anything else. as far as him having to pay others...that's not your problem so don't worry. don't answer any other texts back from him tonight.
Tomorrow see your friend (he's not your friend) with the money.

im sure hes not a real bookie either..i just found out hes 19 and im 17...what should i do, and be honest?...he just said hes not cuttin me any breaks..so my payment plan wud be 350 for 2mro and 100 a month for 10.5 months cuz that wud equal 1400...
