Have to fire up the Sopranos when I get back in town ...
Easily one of my favorite fictional Mafia characters...
Prayers for Tony Sirico's family and loved ones .

@DoubleUp4Life
You’re absolutely right. The slicked back hair, St Anthony chain, wife beater, track suit, nickname, and penchant for violence were all unique traits

He's one of the most cliché, stereotypical characters on the show, unless you count supporting roles like Richie Aprile.

Raised by Aunt ( thought it was his mother, but mom was a Nun) , Has no Children , No Wife , Never met his Father( believe he was a WW1 soldier named Russ ?) , beat cancer ..
How many Mafia characters grew up that way , andi lived that life as an adult ????

Just read Tony Sirico took up acting while doing a 4 year bid in sing sing after a theater trope of ex convicts visited the prison and encouraged him to do so.

How many mafia characters see shrinks?
How many mafia characters are drug addicted, wannabe actors/writers?
How many are gay?
How many are gentle giant widowers?
How many are like from mainland Italy as opposed to Sicily, polite and soft spoken while still ruthless?
Paulie wasn't unique, he was just fleshed out. That comes from a show running that long.

Can't be many others that fit the bill like that

Best Paulie Line IMO: referring to a cat the guys adopted and had been hanging out in the office at the Bada Bing:
"Get him the fuck out. These are snakes with fur. The old Italians'll tell ya, you can't even put 'em around a baby. They suck the breath right out."
Snakes with fur. lol. Never not funny to me.
Late August 2003, Springsteen played at Giants Stadium a few dates in a row, and at one we attended they stopped the show and put a spotlight on Tony Sirico as he walked down the aisle to his seat and played the Godfather theme music. Guy got a standing O. I'd say he was in costume but that was just how he dressed daily. Grey hair wings and all. It was a very "Jersey" moment in history. We may be easily amused.
Saw Bruce 4x that summer between Jersey and Philly. Great shows. Still had Clarence on the sax back then.

My favorite Paulie line is, "The package hit Chrissy with an implement and ran off."
I would say it's my all-time favorite line from the series. I don't know why but it's just funny as shit to me. Paulie was being a dick in that episode too but that line is fucking hilarious to me.
Chris and Paulie were the comic relief of the show. Another one of my favorite lines is where Chris was on the gear and he nodded off on the dog and killed it. And Adriana is obviously like, "What the fuck?" Cuz she knows what's up and Chris goes, "Little guy must've went under there to keep warm."
That show was underrated funny. I kinda fell off in the later seasons but Pine Barrens was one of my favorite episodes.
