I find merit in your original post and agree that not only is the city losing all appearances of being civilized but the people themselves are selfish and self serving savages. Philadelphians I have known, I could write a book. Can't think up a depraved enough title though, so why bother?
The political divides run deep and the opposing factions' desire for blood lust is constant and oh goody, another presidential election is on the horizon with the campaigns starting this year. Onward to victory!

Only because Philly is older. Older cities, those east of the Mississippi, and specially many of the cities located in the original thirteen, they just look more run down. Make no mistake about it though, if we're talking about depraved cities, Kansas City is right up there with the worst of the worst. I believe the murder rate is higher is Kansas City. I would imagine most crime statistics rank right up there with Philly.

Stats don't lie... Trump supporters weren't burning the cities in the summer of 2020, that was your friends. Never heard about a congressional hearing about any of it, like it never happened. It's going to take decades for cities to recover, just like it did after the 70's.

Drive up I-95 through Philly, there's a spot where apartments or projects that are 30 yards from the road, multi-level, it's incredible to witness, you could throw a ball to people in their window driving by.
