I file flight plans, but, don't think for a second I will give you the tail number of the plane, the flight plan that was issued or the manifest...

You don't file flight plans. They are assigned. How else do you think aircraft disasters are averted. The FAA assigns your flight plan based on the 1) military and 2) commercial flights within the same airspace at the projected same time.
Flight numbers are provided for every flight plan. That is how you identify your flight. Flights are never identified by the plane number (think about the reasons why) So how about this---just give me the first 3 and last 3 numbers, which coincide with where the flight took-off and landed.

I cant speak for commercial aircraft, I fly fixed wing, single prop or multi prop, retractable or fixed landing gear
