Lol !!  I would agree with the butterknife theory, but he is hot and cold or streakey,  just need to know when to ride the train or punch your ticket.  Bator is correct in this game though and I respect his comments.  He is in my opinion one of the best !!

Because I also think that home court is a big advantage and refs are human..The people in the stands want to see their home team win unless they bet the other side, so how would it not be just as advantageous for the refs to give home town calls as it is well known to help cover hahaha

the home court plays a huge factor and there are many gamblers and fans out there alike so who knows....I think all the referees in the NBA have an over .500 winning percentage for the home teams so they are halfway there to helping the pointspread part of things

Yeah I dont remember everything about this game, but I do remember that down the stretch, everytime that Seattle would score Phoenix would come down court and get fouled and hit 2 Fts to keep the lead. Poor Seattle played their hearts out only to get robbed in the end.

I would love for this game to be shown on NBA TV as a Hardwood Classic. If anybody wanted to see what a fix looks like, this game would be textbook.

My friend, anyone who has bet a game knows that the home team usually has the advantage in a NBA game. But when the calls are swinging a certain way by an extreme margin, you would be naive to not notice it or look at it as a normal everyday thing.

People who are coming on this thread and bashing any of us who are saying the game was suspect, go ahead, its a Free Country.

But I can assure you that I myself dont cry fix just because I lost 1 damn bet. Man some of us crybabies have been through this shit more than a few times, and you know what, It sure doesnt get old.

Let's review the "talking all kinds of shit" that I was doing in your thread yesterday, where you posted a pair of winning picks on Washington +10.5 and Denver -5.  In your writeup on Denver, you wrote:

Simple...Denver is great at home, and Utah is not so great on the road...Denver will pull it out late...Prediction:  Nuggets 109, Jazz 102

 

And then I wrote:

This Cavaliers/Wizards game is beginning to remind me of the Celtics/Wizards game on Thursday night TNT from back on December 11th.  That night, most guys on Covers thought they were getting serious value with Washington +10.5.  Sadly, the Wizards lost by 34.

Because of Tim Donaghy. If one watches enough games over the years, one will see some strange things. (If you wanna see some "corrupt" calls, watch some rugby league. The phantom calls would drive American fans ballistic, yet they seem to be more acceptable down here.)

You had both teams fighting for playoffs seeds. Utah just couldn't get under that 8-10 Denver lead for the whole 2nd half.

Why refs would be stupid-blatant inside the last 3 minutes as opposed to the rest/majority of the game, is beyond me.

Evidence: Utah 4/4 in FT with under 3 minutes.

Denver: 10/10 in FT in under 3 minutes.

There you go.

I personally bet a lot of (basic) options cause I preach to myself the more options, the better circumstances there is to choose from.

The last  NBA under I bet was PHX/UTA in PHX.

Haven't read this entire thread and did not wager on this game.  I didn't even know what the total was, but while I was watching it, all I could think about was how weird it was the Jazz kept fouling and how the refs kept calling nickel dime fouls.  I knew the projected total set by the lines makers had to be close to what was on the scoreboard.  And while I don't usually believe in the fixes, rather just bad beats, this was kind of fishy.

I watched a Lakers Suns game back on December 10th where something similar took place.  The Lakers made 17 of 22 foul shots in the 4th including 8 of 10 in THE FINAL 30 SECONDS! Thats right, the Lakers took 10 foul shots in 30 seconds.  Point is, it happens more than you think.  And the Lakers were the home team. I was fortunately on the over that night which seemed in doubt until the final 2 minutes.

That was intentional fouling in that December 10th game.  I had no beef with the four intentional fouls the Jazz committed in the last minute of last night's game.  It was all the fouls that came before that that are in question.

Bet you don't know how many games this season had 30% or more points from free throws..... Believe it was 3, including this one.

Only comment am going to make is if you dont believe sports is fixed with the amount of money at stake, then you are really living in some dreamworld where no corruption takes place.  Next thing these guys will be saying wallstreet is all on the up and up.
 
Corruption by humans has been happening since we have been on this planet, we have corruption taking place on a daily basis in every part of our society, but for some reason {maybe people are so much in love with athletes} they just can seem to accept that sports is just as corrupt as other parts of our society.  Alot of you wouldnt believe that sports is fixed if the league told you it was all fixed.  Am sure alot of you still believe the wwf is real

As long as a human + money is involved in something, you will always have corruption.  This isnt something i made up, its just a pure fact of life.

That was an excellent article. Basically breaks down the 10 pages of this thread in a couple paragraphs. Completely validates everything you are saying. Boys and Girls, the internet article is the modern day newspaper so that website reference is as good as the front page of the sports section in a Denver/Utah printed periodical.

This is after a referee in the NBA was sentenced to 15 MONTHS IN PRISON for FIXING GAMES!!!! Forgotten? Disregarded? Then that same man, under threat of perjury (i.e. more prison time, embarrassment, public humiliation)  went on to further state that gambling and NBA game fixing was much more widespread than the NBA's rouge official conspiracy theory. 

What exactly are the individuals who are posting here learning in the public/private education system, if anything? Are you not taught to form a viable, reasoned opinion through empirical evidence? Or do you sit in a high chair, with a bib on, taking in the pureed carrots and prunes that David Stern spoon-feeds you with regard to having this problem contained and eliminated. If the latter is the case, 'unvelcro' your diaper and you'll see your opinion staring you in the face.  

The complaints outlined are about having a fair attempt to capitalize on an investment that has a return of 
+91%/-100%. That's a huge swing for a 2 hour 40 minute period, and when you feel you're cheated out of it, you're understandably pist off. Just like you'd be pist off if you had half you're investment portfolio invested in Lehman Brothers, AIG, Bank of America, etc. etc. and found out you've been fleeced. 

People please, before you post,provide a sound counter-argument that encapsulates the fact you could be considered the species person sapien and avoid looking like a monkey sitting your shit, rubbing it all over your face while grinning like you did here.

That is the EXACT reason...and compares to why people still admire Michael Jackson (just sold out 50? shows in Europe and the guy is 50 years old and dyed his skin white). Let's be clear, Jackson clearly fondled little boys, possibly hundreds? of times and paid millions in 'hush money' to disallow these stories from ever hitting the tabloids. But people, because they grew up dancing to Beat It at their High School Prom and singing Billy Jean in the shower, and Dirty Diana in their car, REFUSE TO BELIEVE THE REMOTE POSSIBILITY that this could have ever happened. He's connected the memories of childhood/adolescent years. Finding out that he got children drunk and slept in the same bed with them (admitted) is incongruent with the 'peaches and cream' memories of yesteryear. End result? THEY DENY IT EVER HAPPENED...and then 30 years, haul their oversized asses to his concert and cheer him again. The same thing happens right here in this thread.
