My handicapping skills aren't great so I observe the winning/popular handicappers to learn how they succeed and maybe pick up some tips to improve my skills. I do not tail anyone, but I frequently check their picks to see if maybe I should re-examine my own when they oppose.
This thread is intended to illustrate those notables who are achieving excellence with regard to their cbb skills to pick significantly more winners than losers. It can be a helpful tool to some observers.
What is not a consideration is who is popular, does the best writeups, gets the most clicks, or talks the talk like a pro. Actual results are what matters in this investigation.
I have analyzed the posted picks of numerous cbb handicappers and specifically from the perspective of a lurker who would bet just one unit on each of their picks. Multi-unit designations are stripped away, since how much money one claims to bet is irrelevent to one's ability to pick more winners than losers, let alone the obvious potential for forum fraud. When all picks are counted at one unit, it levels the playing field so we can best review and compare the skills on display. Good luck going forward.
This is non-partisan, strictly objective research. It is neither intended to backpat anyone nor demean anyone. If you read it negatively then YOU are reading it wrong.
I don't have the time nor inclination to search & score forum records for everybody. I apologize if I missed anyone who fulfills all the relevent criteria shown below. Please advise and I can take a look and update.
Thank you, gents!
Criteria required for TOP GUN classification:
- Minimum 100+ posted picks - he consistently posts an updated YTD - postive units, after scoring by just one unit each!!! - minimum 55% win percentage

TOP GUN cbb forum handicappers!

Here are the TOP GUNS that I could verify using the criteria noted in previous post: Fubah2 166-87 +50.91 AtlantaGambler 91-69 +28.27 Michigan_D 113-75 +28.26 Sportsfixx 80-53 +21.70 Other notable members with at least 100+ posted picks: Ryoshiii 947-826 -20.82 (mean avg -117.17 juice)Wizerguy 85-89 -15.23 (mean avg -112.62 juice) Results from the W/L record are expressed as standard recordkeeping units (SRU) (one unit per each pick, regardless how much $$ one claims to bet, which is irrelevent) NEXT,
I would follow fubah2 , wizerguy, ryoshii blindly if I was in a rush and didn’t have time to recap it myself, I would blindly fade Michigan D every time, all the time. I don’t know much about Atlanta gambler or sportsfixx, thank you for bringing those two to my attention, I’ll have to look into their work.
“Hold fast to the iron rod.”

I haven't been on here much lately but it seems a couple of guys that should be on your list are missing. CBS Analyst and KC4life are two that I can think of off the top of my head. We're those cappers included in your analysis? thx

@Zeus4par
Thanks for your comment, but no, not NBA
Didn't have the time and cbb was already an exhausting effort.
But I will track MLB handicappers threads again this coming season!
Will be following the same important criteria, with all records stripped of any "units" posted, so all handicappers are judged by the exact same standard: one unit result only for every pick, because how much money one "claims" to wager is not at all relevent to his ability to pick more winners than losers. Relevent to him maybe, but not to us. Handicapping skill results are what is important to observers, not phony records after tossing around "units" like confetti at a wedding, as a handful of guys persist on doing.

Here are the TOP GUNS that I could verify using the criteria noted in previous post:
Fubah2 166-87 +50.91
AtlantaGambler 91-69 +28.27
Michigan_D 113-75 +28.26
Sportsfixx 80-53 +21.70
Other notable members with at least 100+ posted picks:
Ryoshiii 947-826 -20.82 (mean avg -117.17 juice)
Wizerguy 85-89 -15.23 (mean avg -112.62 juice)
I would follow fubah2 , wizerguy, ryoshii blindly if I was in a rush and didn’t have time to recap it myself, I would blindly fade Michigan D every time, all the time. I don’t know much about Atlanta gambler or sportsfixx, thank you for bringing those two to my attention, I’ll have to look into their work.
Well it's your money, so you can do what you want with it.
But hypothetically, if you had bet ONE UNIT on every pick posted by these gents,
betting ON picks by Wizerguy and Ryoshiii and fading all picks by Michigan_D,
you would be really deep in a hole, costing you roughly -64 units
Whereas in addition had you also bet ONE UNIT on every pick by fubah2, Sportsfixx, and AtlantaGambler, their combined success would have dragged you out of that hole to roughly +100 units
