I just did the calculations and u must win at 61% or higher of your games to make a profit.
 
 
 
 
This is why buying 2 pts per game is a losing proposition

W/L % means nothing, its all about Units won period, heck id rather be hitting on 30% of my plays and be in the black, then 70% and be in the red

I don't buy points everyday but i bought points today with  mizz geting +7.5... i'll be collecting those winnings this upcoming friday.


for the long term handi capper buying points is not a good idea though. I agree.

and for the record, i've neve bought more then an occasional hook. i dont agree w/ buying points either. but i really dont agree w/ bagging on someone who's only trying to share his pretty damn good capping skills. he never once has told people they should buy 2 points. thats just what he does and it must work for him or he would have stopped doing it.

5 bets...all risking $150 to win $100 (bought 2 pts on each)
 
Won 3.....Lost 2.........3 wins = +$300, 2 losses = -$300.....Profit = $0
 
Hitting 60% won't even turn a profit..........glad you brought this up redpanda, I was going to do it myself the other day.

His methods may not be ideal...and I don't agree with buying 2 points a game, but buying the points seemed to have helped him with his "BIG" Missouri bet where in most cases, he would have lost. It seems that buying 2 points in this tourney has helped a lot of people. NBA...I don't think as much.

I will say this...on some wagers buying two points is the right move. For example: let's say you have a team that's -3.5 or -4 and you'd rather take them moneyline, but, instead of taking them on the moneyline you decide to simply buy them down to -1.5 or -2 for the lower juice....BUT, to do it on every game is a no-win proposition. Playing -150 on every bet will simply kill your bankroll.
