What is so wrong with suicide?

Life sucks for a lot of people....it can be an unfair grind, but you gotta tough it out. Whe I was a kid my dad told me that "you need to bust your butt every day and opportunities will come along." It's the people that give up or hide, that happen to be absent when their "break/opportunity" comes along. If you're there and dialed into life....you can take advantage of what's in front of you. This can mean anything from meeting the right chick to economic opportunity....

 

Life is an opportunity, in and of itself, man....some people have really shitty lives and never get a break, whereas others are inordinantly blessed and seem to get every break......most of us are somewhere in the middle. I think the most disturbing thing about your thread is the fact that you feel the last 20 years were a waste....well, what's done is done...at 33 you can still turn your ship around.

 

Make DRASTIC changes.....go to a doctor, talk to someone, if you're outta shape....pick up a sport. I know it sounds like hollow rhetoric, and you're a grown adult, but my point is you still have a chance and you're still relatively young. If you don't want to paste yourself because you value your family....the you obviously aren't hopeless. Sometimes when you think things are always fucked for you, your outlook evolves into a self-fulfilling life prophecy. Maybe it's not your life that sucks.....it's your outlook

And also bipolar people have real high highs and real low lows. I just am always at a steady low point and I fake being high at work and around friends and families. I never experience any real great highs. So actually if I was really bipolar that would be great cause then at least I could have some moments of excitement in my life. I am pretty much just always at a pretty down mode. I just have the blues. I have had them for years. That is not bipolar.

Sounds like you have no dependents.  So a positive about suicide us that all debts will be erased

HEY LEG..  i am parapalegis  for 30 years..(i woke up paralyzed  at age 16)  AND  15 years later got a blood transfusion  tainted with both  hiv  and hep 3.. and i have never once  thought about committing suicide..  as others have said  its very selfish..  you die... everyone left suffers the consequences.. i am realtively healthy now..  work a full time job  and gamble  for fu,... i have an ex wife  who is my best friend  and a wondeful 21 yr old son..i take medication   EVERY  day  to keep me alive...  sometimes with  less than  great side effects..if you ever want to trade places  let me know..life is what u make it..  sounds like the guys here are right   you definately  have something  wrong..  whether it be psychological or chemical... if you dont want to fix it with meds.. than illl give you a suggestion..  take your spare time and volunteer  at a hospice  or a childrens hosp  reading books to terminally ill kids.. or visit an old folks home  and adopt a grandparent..  if you give to someone else  you will find  value in your own life.. NO MATTER HOW MESSED UP IT IS...people  who commit  suicide  USUALLY  talk about it first..  this is a  cry for help.. stop typing on the computer  and make  what u think  is a useless life  usefull..

All religion aside. It is selfish and dishonourable.

Let's face it, you're injured, can't play, experiencing depression as result.  It'll all pass soon and if it doesn't, who cares?  You've had a life that a lot of us would KILL to have.

 

Best way to overcome your depression is to bring happiness to others...do something nice for someone who least expects it & you'll see what I mean.  It will change your life, David.

 

 

I'll attempt to answer your question....taking your life eliminates your beneficiaries from collecting life insurance. Now they're stuck with funeral costs. Insurance wins. You're better to just disappear or stage an "accident".

 

You need to seek help. Instead of dreaming up most efficient ways to end your life try thinking of ways to improve it and that of those around you.

I really just need to find the right girl that would be able to love and take care of me and not run away or cheat on me when I go through my depression phases. I just go through deep depressions every once in a while then I get out of them and I am ok. But most girls freak out by this and think you are crazy or something. I should probably try to date a nurse then maybe they would be more understanding. That is probably my biggest problem is I date all these young immature girls than I get attached to them then they cheat on me cause I will be going through one of my spells then that makes me even more depressed then they totally destroy my self esteem calling me a psycho and shit when most of the time I just need someone to be caring and understanding to me when I am feeling like that but they do the opposite.
