Why the racial aspect of the freaking pregame?

 I mean come on already. How is it relevant? It just puts people in a bad state of mind before a great day.

Because it's pretty relevant.  Not sure if you noticed, but a lot of black dudes excel in basketball.  I don't think it puts people in a bad state of mind but shows how far we have come.

Showing racist white people and crooked referees from 1950 doesn't show me how far we have come. Showing a black president or a condi rice shows me how far we have come.

I guess they'll see Butler vs Duke and conclude "white people have finally arrived in the game of basketball"(nevermind both Butler and Duke have great black players). Media are stupid-er than we are. We don't ask them for much I've noticed.

It seems that this society has become, "pat the black man's back, when he does something he's supposed to do anyway".

I'm sick of hearing the sports announcers saying how outstanding  a black player is, if he--- "gets good grades, stays out of trouble, or was raised by a single mom".

Well, as Chris Rock said....You are supposed to do that!! Ask all the poor black women.

Blacks are not the only ones with hardships in the past.

Yes, slaves existed for 100's of years before the black man was enslaved in north america.........For like 1500 years when one "tribe" or race would take over another territory by war they would enslave alot of the people

At least we can talk about it now.  That's a first step.  I remember MJ being on the Letterman Show....MJ was talking about one of his new shoes, stating the NBA hadn't accepted it.  Letterman asked why, to which MJ replied it didn't have enough white in it.  Letterman said then; isn't that the problem with the NBA?  Not enough white?  MJ about fell out of his seat.  Funny shit.

Why are u guys bringing up history. It's annoying to how people bring up history when it doesn't matter, and it definetly doesn't matter here. Who cares if blacks were slaves in the 1800s, none of those people are even alive now. What matters is now, and yes I too am sick and tired of hearing about how these kids had adversity because they were raised by a single mom and still manage to get good grades, so what? They have two jobs, play basketball and do schoolwork, that's what college is.
