I don't think playing the players is bad advice......but I think in your quote above you have it backwards......first you need to learn how to play the cards.....then worry about playing players. I think if you try to play players before knowing how to play the cards solidly you are setting yourself up for a world of problems. I can't count the number of times I've scooped a pot and had the loser tell me that they thought I was "weak"...........I was fairly screaming my hand to them, but they went with their "instinct".........anyway, that's my two cents. I'm not disagreeing with you and I definitely think you need to learn to play players, I just think you need to learn to play cards first.
