Agree/disdagree?  Doyle lacks the stamina for big tournies, and Ivy has been nowhere to be found lately.

Agree on all but mike the mouth is 5th in that group by a wide margin.

Love the watkinson reference, shows you know your stuff

matusow is such a  tool. The guy is just his own worst enemy and really needs to quit jockin himself so hard when he cant even keep it together. He's almost as bad as that tool on here named electricladylnd

Hero raises pot to 60 villian calls....

flop J 6 4 rainbow

hero bets 120, villian raises to 390, hero reraises to 900 and villian shoves

Hero snap calls villian shows Q10 off suit.  gg.

ChanceP sucks.

OK seriously, Daniel N.  should be on that list for tourney players, never see that guy make a bad play, he has ran into some monsters though to get bounced or crippled.

Matusow has placed very well in at least 2 recent WSOPs.  That says a lot to me, but he is also capable of going broke with 1 of his admitted blow ups.  He acknowledges that he can be his own worst enemy.  And Lee Watkinson summed Matusow up perfectly by saying he does something brilliant 1 minute, and something idiotic the next.

I agree, he is a good player but not in the league of the others in that group.

When he makes a bold move if it works it is GENIUS. If it does not they just called it a matusow blow up. He gets a pass when he makes a donkey move, they just have a name for it. A matusow blow up.

You guys who play alot know a huge part of poker is not making great moves, it is avoiding bad ones. Many pros make a living off us making bad moves not neccasarily being creative or making good moves in thier own right.

Every time I see Matasow take a step forward I also see him take two or three steps back. He seems to lacks the discipline and consistency of this group.
 
I'd definitely put Negraneu in the top 5 (his reads are amazing) and possibly Juanda (he always seems to put up consistely good results) , maybe Chan, and Ivy even though he chooses to play more cash games because he does well against against fellow pros in big tournies.

I'd have to put Shannon Elizabeth up there, too.  She is really good at drawing out, which is important.

I would agree that Negreanu has to be in top 5. Take out the Mouth and put Daniel in.

God, I hate Jamie Gold more than any other person, whether it's actors, athletes, musicians, or poker players.  The guy is such a fuking douche bag.

anyone remember when moneymaker bluffed on FARHA in the wsop that started all this shit??  that was the best bluff ever. moneymaker looked like a sprinkler of sweat and farha folded a pair of aces.muhahahahhahahhaa

Wow, a lot happens in 5 years.  Pair of 9's becomes a pair of Aces?  I bet in 5 years from now, Farha will have a set of Aces.

Farha had Qs9 and Moneymaker had Ks7(I think), Moneymaker turns a K high flush draw and open ended straight draw, he then proceeds to raise Farha on the Turn, I don't think Farha could of called his shove on the River, you would think CM would of had nothing worse than 2 pr by then.

I dont follow poker like I used to, but has Ivey fallen that far? There was a time when some considered him the best in the world and now his name isnt even mentioned in this thread.

Ivey's more involved in big cash games but imho can still be considered one of the elite in tourneys.

alot of them have fallen because of the sheer number of players entering these tournies nowadays i believe. its truly a minefield getting through these tournies without a beatdown or suckouts.
