That's called collusion.  Any time there is money involved, there is always the real possibility of players working together and raising pots, knowing they will split your losses at the end of the night.  I am sure it happens on occasion at almost every live poker room.

I initially thought goinggone was talking about dealers fixing the games.  That is HIGHLY unlikely as the cost of doing so and getting caught FAR exceeds any benefit they would receive in doing so.

Wed night there was a program on TV about online Poker, hope you watched it. Some pro lost 70k before he new what happened. Poker is a game of % you don't win a certain % of the time you more than likely be cheated. Easy to spot if you know what to look for.

Don't worry about fixed games or collusion. Worry about being a losing player.

Fixed games do happen, but they don't last long. With the information available today, a B&M or online poker room CAN'T stay in business running a crooked game. Home games may be a different story...

Collusion does happen, frequently online, but... most of the players who resort to collusion are LOSING players anyway. You have to know how to beat the game straight up before you can really take advantage of collusion. If you can beat the game, why would you risk cheating?

Games with "bad" collusion can actually be pretty profitable.

collusion definitly happens.....but you can see it, when you play poker pay attention because you should be instead of sitting under your hood with sunglasses on and have an ipod in your ears blasting....instead people should fucking pay attention....

if 2-3 people are cheating and colluting with each other you should be able to spot it after a while

I will tell say this though, playing in a live game has about a 5% chance of shady cheating going on. (total guess on the %) but playing online poker has about a 85% chance of shady cheating going on. Not that its rigged but with poker bots and different ways players can cheat.

All online poker is crooked.  It's all rigged to increase drama and fireworks.  There are no rules or regulations over it, so who expects it to be legit?  It's just like online casino's.

All online poker is crooked.  It's all rigged to increase drama and fireworks.  There are no rules or regulations over it, so who expects it to be legit?  It's just like online casino's.

Not crooked. Stars, Tilt, and others are making WAY too much money to let any cheating go on. Sure, it CAN happen but... most cheats are really bad players and wind up losing anyway AND the sites work diligently to eliminate any shady activity.

With the tracking software and web pages available, online poker is partially regulated by the players themselves.

I am not chancep. Also, not a poker site promoter. Which site is it that you think I am promoting?

How is online poker rigged? Which sites are rigging it? What evidence, if any, do you have to back up your claims?

soblatant- You're wrong about me being chancep, wrong about me being a poker site promoter, and wrong about "online poker" being rigged. I am actually impressed by your volume of failure...

And, I also think you're wrong to attack me personally.

LOTS of poker players play online and win. I'm not trying to "make" anyone "believe" anything, it's a fact. Check out any of the online poker tracking sites...

Whenever I hear the rigged argument, it seems to come from a losing player with a fragile ego. It HAS to be rigged, right? How else could they lose?

These are just two of the sites that were caught.  You don't think this goes on at every site?  Don't believe the BS that these sites didn't have an idea that this was going on.  They got caught red handed and had an employee or two take the fall.

thats great news WillyDonka, i turned $50 into $1000 on 2 different sites,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, but if you keep playing you will get your asz hammered back down, it's built into the software,,,, now if you're smart  enough to cash out and quit you can say you was a winner, but nobody does that because by then they have visions of bigger and bigger money, but then the bad beats come along a little more often along with your poor money management the next thing you know you'll be reloading and playing the game that they have programmed for you to play, a lifetime of reloads unless you're smart enough to quit!

they are comparable to drug dealers. rig the sites to hook you up when you first start, make you feel good about the whole thing, take your big balance down to zero, and then you have a bitch of a time staying away.

I think I may have a different definition of "rigged". I don't view cheating or player collusion as sites being rigged.

Cheating happens in everything. Players collude all the time. But, most of them aren't any good and wind up getting caught.

Why would sites want you to lose? You lose your roll, get discouraged, and leave... no more rake from you. How does that profit them?

    By the way...shmucks

I have amost the same yearly winrate online and I do live (when you compair hands played not hours played)

I play around 20 hours a week online and 16 hours a week live....so of course I play waaaaay more hands online....but when you break it down by hand it's about the same.

From 2001 to 2006 I played 30 hours a week online and 30 hours a week live and my results were again right around the same win rate (of course that win rate was much higher thanks to the massive amount of donks who showed up online in 2004, God I miss the mid-2000's )

So....again...I must have one these magic lucky accounts and I just dont suck at Poker and blame it on the software
