Didn't you call what happened to Golfkat "a suckout" up above?

You damn right it was a suckout.    And Golfkat was not wrong in calling this guy as was proven when the other guy turned over his JQ.

I don't see anything wrong with taking a shot at the guy's 50 bucks with AK.     No matter if it's a 3 dollar game or not.    The other guy had a decent hand but he was definitely trying to steal the pot with that 50 dollar bet and Golfkat didn't let it happen.

And then the guy "Sucked Out".

Those are your words ChanceP not mine.

You trying to tell me that every time somebody tries to steal a pot on you with a big bet you should lay it down even if you have a huge hand yourself?

You let enough people see you doing that and they are going to know they are playing with a FISH.

OJ is kind of a big hand heads up. It is gonna be higher than most random hands that the opponent might have. In a tourney ot may be a good move to shove w/ this hand heads up. In a cash game it is questionable but maybe this guy was a gambling maniac. When there is a few dollars in the pot, doesn't make sense for him to bet $50 here. Seems like he knew you would call the $50, and wanted you to call the $50, and then he obviously knew what cards were coming. You guys were wrong to criticize the guy as it is pretty clear the guy got cheated and if you don't want to gamble with AK heads up then really what kind of player are you? I have seen Brunson, Greenstein etc make huge bets with AK pre flop as there are 2 hands you are really worried about AA and KK, and those are les likely as you hold 1 of each, and many hands that you dominate like A - X or K Q etc, and it is a coin flip with pocket pairs. Brunson has said he prefers AK suited over KK or QQ as if he hits the Ace its good and you have the flush and straight chances too.

    Hound-

Technically, his call was correct once the cards were turned over.  But when this type of thing is done on-line, it could mean a LOT of things.  If you asked him what he thought the other guy had, I bet he doesn't say "JQ."  As you saw, he was shocked that the guy would play a hand like that when it was that poor.  So it's apparent to me that the only things that he could have suspected the other guy had was A-Q (who plays that hand like that???) or some sort of a pair.  I, personally, would have guessed 10's or J's for a play like that (and obviously I wasn't watching this guy play).

So the call was correct, but it's pretty apparent he wasn't analyzing all this information before he hit the button because he was shocked the guy called with a hand like he did.

It's one thing when you're considering a call on the river with a decent sized pot at stake.  It's another when you have $3 invested in a hand.

The beef here is that 1. it's pretty apparent he didn't reason out his decision, and 2. that he was shocked that he lost.

If someone is that much of a renegade, why not wait and catch them with a made hand??

And as for being a fish, who says he lays down A-K every time?  From everything I've read and seen, the ones the pros call fishes are the ones who CAN'T lay down A-K at times.

I disagree. Heads up, Preflop you don't know what the other guy has. You only had commited before the reraise $3 to the pot ($1 call plus the $2 raise) and the total pot was $3.50 or $4. (His ante)

A $50 reraise is about 15 times what you have commited to the pot. You can only assume a pocket pair with that kind of re-raise (Most of the time that is what you will run into with that size of raise) and that means FOLD since at best you can only assume you have 6 outs with AK. 3A and 3K left in the deck.

Notice I say assume, because it doesn't matter what this person had this hand, there are lots of hands in the game, you will be holding AK many many more times in your poker carrer and in the long run, if people pick up a tell that you will call with AK and you can't fold that hand, and call on huge odds like that, you'll just be setting yourself up to get trapped over and over again by players who understand this concept.

to all of u who think golfkat made a bad play, i challenge u to deposit on 5dimes, set a time and tell us your username, that way we can all watch all of the supposed people who never lose, pay their bs mortgages, etc...this is your chance to step up and put your money where your mouth is.  if u like to hit and run, do not even reply....i am trying to but all these big talkers to the test and see how many of u actually come crying back about being beat by a bot or crooked game etc.   this is the most crooked site of all and if u can win at the 300 or 600 dollar table. then step up to the plate big boys

And, the guy that raised with QJ - he was probably trying to front AA, thinking you would fold.  Or, as I have been guilty of, was pissed about a bad beat on another table or something and said, "to hell with it, I am going to bet $50 and win this one damn pot, this one hand, right now."  Or, who knows, maybe you are a loose player and he thought you had rags trying to buy some blinds.  IMO, there are several LEGIT reasons a guy would make a $50 raise over a $2 bet.

i play there almost everyday through beted and its not that bad of a place.....but there is absolutely no traffic there....i played mainly 2/5 and 5/10 NL and its seriously the same 5 or 6 players there everyday.....its kinda sad.

the thing i love about online is that everyone belittles everyone else for thier play and calls each other "donkey," "fish," or "bot."  I always laugh when I see that.
