Unbelievable! I just witnessed a Royal Flush at PokerStars, but the most unusual kind >>>

All 5 cards that constituted the Royal Flush were the community cards.  I searched the web and couldn't find the odds of this occuring.  I'm guessing it is over a trillion to 1 chance that the board would be a Royal Flush.  Anyone know the true odds?

no 1 here will beleive me but i get royal flushes 4 or 5 times a day

 

i know that seems weird but what makes it weirder is i usually get my royal flushes if i raise from early position with 7 4 suited

NFLNightmares, your numbers are a little off, but you helped me figure out the right probability.  Your first number (20/52) is the only incorrect calculation that you presented.  The rest are right.  The actual formula is rather simple:

 

(5/52) * (4/51) * (3/50) * (2/49) * (1/48) = 120/311,875,200 = 1 out of 2,598,960.

 

So the chances of a Royal Flush being dealt with all five community cards is approximately 1 out of 2.6 million, unlike the 1 in a trillion that I initially surmised.

 

 NFLNightmares, my apologies.  I was picking a specific suit for the equation as opposed to realizing that the first card just has to be a 10 or higher to keep the Royal Flush alive.  Thus the (20/52) that the first card is a 10, J, Q, K, or A of Clubs, Diamonds, Hearts, or Spades. 

 

Your answer of 1/649,740 is correct.  I asked my brother who is a casino dealer the odds and he said it was approximately 1/650,000 because he knew so from dealing Caribbean Stud.  However, he did not know the math involved.  NFL, thanks for coming up with the answer.
