I've been thinking about this after a bad session. My biggest is that I play too many hands after a bad beat. Hands that I would call a raise with but under normal circumstances, I would never call.

I occasionally have that problem also Colonel, but I am doing better about not playing a few hands after a bad beat. I try to get my mind off the bad beat and back into the current hand.
Other weakness is I have a hard time letting go of pocket KK or AA when I am pretty sure someone has made trips. I tend to call "just to be 100% sure". What a stupid mistake that is but I want that info to make sure my read is right.

Going on tilt. W/O a doubt this is the downfall of myself and most. You play great 95% of the time but one bad and just like that you notice your playing ATC and your seeing the felt. Discipline seperates the great players (the real pros) from the rest of us. I firmly believe its that simple.

haha man im gonna come off as arrogant but i never really had a problem with going on tilt after a bad beat, id say i play about the same, id say my biggest weakness is folding big hands.

I would have to agree with bigdaddye, just being a bit too "sticky" on some pots. Rolling with some good pair when a guy is hammering into you, when in the back of your mind you're thinking this guy just hit 2 pair with 10-8 os and low and behold he did. Or a random low straight, or who knows. Guy might even have a decent hand but it's hard to lay down those Kowboys or Rockets at times.

Not making enough money or building pots when I have good hands. I am tight and rarely get action, so I need to loosen up a bit and bet some draws sometimes. I fold AQ to raises in bad positions too and many people think Im nuts

my weakness is when i have a mediocre hand and someone raises, i automatically assume he has a hand better than me. it saves me from losing large sums of money, but it also makes me suspect to being bullied

My problem is not going on tilt. May times after a bad beat I become extra aware of the fact that I might be on tilt and become more passive on purpose folding many winning hands. I have to learn to take a bad beat as just one hand and continue playing the way I do, my game changes and my aggression slows down.

When I'm in a pot with a good hand, I get giddy to the point where it can affect my reads of the player or players who are in the pot with me.
I can call hands out left and right when I'm watching the hand being played by 2 or 3 other players, but my brain sometimes malfunctions when I get the adrenaline going.
I also tend to get really quiet when I have a hand and too chatty when I don't. Working on it, though.

haha DAMN folded AK, jj preflop!?, im jk colonel, ive made those folds too, queens preflop also, there are some spots u just dont need to risk ur whole stack with those kind of hands and they are easy to let go, you may impress ur average player but not me

I fear big bets... it is easy for me to get pushed around in a poker game with a big bet. Also, sometimes I'll overplay my poker pairs. I can lay down hands usually not really my weakest part like most people. I struggle to win cosistently with my friends. Probably should find smaller limits so I dont get pushed around as much.

I was playing 3 weeks ago at the 2/5 game. The table broke so I went to 1/2 N/L. I had about 220 in front of me when I had KK under the gun. I limped. First guy raised it to 20. Second guy reraised it to 100. I was pretty sure second guy had QQ. I mean 95 % sure. So I just smooth call hoping it's just going to be me and him. Well, when it gets back to the original raiser, the popped it 200 more. The guy with QQ calls. I had 100 left so I put it in(I was ready to leave because I was playing all night.)
It was AA vs KK vs QQ. AA held up.
Had I had 500 or 600 I would've folded because I would've gotten married to KK after the flop. Now if I had 1500 and the guy with AA had around that amount, I would've called hoping to flop a set to clean him out.
N/L - it's about the implied odds

Colonel- yeah i can see why you would think to fold there, when it goes p1-bet, p2 raise p3 call p1 reraise and p2 call preflop, i wouldnt want anything but aces. However in your situation i would probably call too simply because the pot is like, 500? im pretty sure im not gonna fold kings for 5-1 on my money.
Speaking of 2/5 i played in a pretty crazy home game about 2 weeks ago, it started out at 1/2 i bought in 150 cuz thats just what i had with me, but most others bought in about 200. Pot got to about 2 and a half grand at its peak, anyway so once it got down to 3 handed, me and my 2 friends we decided to bump it up to 2/5 when i had about 550, friend 1 750ish and friend 2 530 ish, anyway eventually i busted out friend 2 and THEN we bumped it up to 3/6, thats a pretty crazy game if uve ever played it, i started heads up with about 850 and the other guy had about 1100, at one point i was down to 150 but i ended up cashing about 880, we played from 3 in the afternoon to 6 in the morning.
Thanks for the little tip at the end

My personal poker kryptonite is making the postflop continuation bet with suited AK after two of your suit hit, getting check-raised by the little blind, and then calling him down when I turn/river an A or K and he's sitting with two-pair/set.

Mike-
I am very selective about my continuation bets with A-K on a flop like that. It is really dependent on the player I am up against. If they are good player, I will most often check-call a hand like that if I have the nut flush draw (and I'm fine with folding depending on the size of the bet). I will mix in some continuation bets with those players as well just to keep them honest. But I'll bet it out almost all the time if the other one is a weaker player.
But overall, I'd say I check that hand quite a bit more often then I make a continuation bet with it.

My biggest weakness is losing AA or KK to QQ or JJ preflop all-in. It never ever ever fails. At this point I've become convinced I can never win a showdown with less than a set. Not a good mindset either.
Can you tell I've been raped a lot lately.

I fold AQ to raises in bad positions too and many people think Im nuts
i folded AK and JJ preflop before. almost folded KK 3 weeks ago.
That happend to me I had KK in the BB in a 1/2 NL game. The guy 2 from CO raises to 12 preflop I pop him back 36 and he goes all in for about 150. The third preflop raise is usually AA 90% of the time. Well I was a little tilty and said eff it I call. He had 88 and lost. I would have folded AK or QQ in this spot, but for 114 more I was not folding KK.
