I was living in FL for a few years before moving back to NYC in Sept. When they allowed NL games in July I started playing at Daytona and in Tampa. The game was extremely easy. Unfortunately they only had 1/2 and 2/5. The 2/5 wasnt worth playing because it was a $100 max buy in. Thats even low for the 1/2 game but its much better then buying in for 20 bb's. In that game you can basically throw away anything not a KK or AA for a re raise pre flop down there. For the amount of times its only AK its not worth calling. I would guess 90% of the time when I was reraised pre flop it was kk are AA. I folded QQ in same spot as you without hesitation. Their hadnt been a reraise pre flop in an hour and the guy who did it was not a loose cannon. And the beauty is anyone who has a KK or AA loves to show it after everyone folds because its a big deal to be dealt such a great hand. I laid down botom set there one time on the flop and showed it. Flop was 567 two diamonds. I raised and the guy next to me reraised large. I folded and showed knowing he would show me the nuts which he did. I was actually criticized by the other geniuses in the game for folding because after all I could have made a FH. I told them couldnt a set of 7's been a possibility for him to have? That would have been worse then the straight. He makes that raise with 77 and unless i make quads i am done. So that told me the guy could have showed himt he straight he still would have chased. Scary. Basically in that game dont read too much into what they are doing. The reraises generally are what they appear to be. You will occasionally fold a winner but it will save you a lot more int he long run there. In a better game of course its a little different.
