Cautiously optimistic outlook for the Harris campaign, many of the grassroot fundraisings are from the first time donors. Power of school of individual donors shall drastically outweigh an affluent billionaire donor, let's say two same amount of one million dollars donation from ten thousands individuals vs from only a single affluent donor. In this case, 10,000 votes vs just one vote.
Women are very likely the crucial group to decide the outcome of this presidential campaign. Additionally, young voters are also showing very much enthusiastically as well.
Party of family values votes down the family votes down the child tax credit act. Probably cause it didnt have massive tax cuts for the rich people in it. Shameful how this party says one thing and then does the complete opposite. I always tell people you dont need to follow any news, just go look at what the politicians vote for and against to see who they really are. Dont listen to them talk, because its usually just BS that comes out of their mouths. Voting records are written 100 percent fact. So if you want to see if the politician you support, really supports your values, check the voting record. You will be shocked.
Why does having a child deserve a tax credit?
I never understood this. It's like bringing a child in to this world is not well thought out by the mother and father. It is a huge decision to bring a child into this life and one of those decisions should be based on a financial aspect of you cant afford to being a child into this world then why are you having one.
Giving a refund to those who have kids always seemed odd to me. I mean you are automatically given money back just because you have a kid. This, along with other credits that are available like for child care and so forth. I just never understood why hundreds or thousands of dollars should be given back just because you can claim a child of age.
It's just an extension of more welfare really instead of focusing on whether or not a merger and father can financially support bringing a child into this world. I mean there is no guideline other than the amount of your earnings and the number of children you can claim or support. I know these refunds are coming down recently but that just means that they may have been over valued to begin with.
If the system is set ip to tax based on number of dependents already and earnings then shouldn't the employer be taking out an adjusted amount based on the tax tables already?
Just never made sense to me plus when you add what the state may already be providing by way of healthcare, food stamps, lower housing, etc... this one has always puzzled me because many of those people can claim exempt and pay no taxes in and still get a refund because they have kids...would'nt they already have received the benefit by not having taxes withheld while everyone else has to pay?

So what would you prefer as to how a freebie is given, would you prefer Intel get 5B for a handout or would you prefer a phased out middle income break to families? Or would you prefer Ukraine and Israel to get billions in free debt cash?
Unless one side says stop to all freebies and focus on fiscal responsibility and debt reduction, you have to pick which handout you side with. I have come to the conclusion that fiscal responsibility is NOT a focus and hasnt for 25 years, so my handouts I would be preferred to individuals versus corps or war mongering.
I'm not sure which I would prefer, but if our tax system is set up properly based on dependents and you are to pay in the correct amount based on your earnings then I never saw the need for a refund per child. Just allow those working.to not pay any taxes in based on a set poverty line...anything above that you owe...
I know the recent tax laws changed on amount per child and now limits how many child refunds are provided but there was a time when you had up to 4 kids or so maybe more per child....so those people could make tens of thousands of dollars and be exempt from both federal and state taxes and then get a couple thousand given to them...
I'm only speaking of this particular refund not tied to anything else. If you look at just this tax refund then it never made sense to me not all other issues you listed. I'm saying this should not be given over and beyond what one pays in taxes at the poverty line not allowing zero taxes for a taxpayer to not pay in and give them hundreds or thousands of dollars. That's double dipping. They got more money per paycheck by not having taxes withheld. That should be there break nothing else.
the only reason people get mad at lower income people getting help, is because thats the segment of the population the 99 percent of the population actually sees. Its like the person getting food stamps and people getting pissed off because they see these people getting free shit from our tax dollars, what all these people dont see is the rich person down at the yahct or airplane store buying these things with our tax dollars and we dont see this, cause none of us are at these stores. I have always lived by the beliefs that i would rather see somebody getting a free steak with my tax dollars then some already super rich getting an airplane with my tax dollars. Truth is somebody is gonna get our tax dollars, might as well be somebody that needs it. Thats just my beliefs. In fat look at all the money that got stolen during the covid pandemic. Lots of it were done big business scamming the govt. Just go look up all the money given to politicians who never had to pay of it back.

I dont mind food stamps when properly regulated. One of my first jobs out of high school was working as a checker at a local grocery store..back then there was food stamps and there was a program for women/infant/children and that program had a line item restriction on what the funds could be used for...very restrictive and focused on lower cost high value food items like veggies, milk, protein, whole grain bread etc. So when they would come to the check out we would have a list of items from their voucher and we would accept specific items only and it had to be house brand items..and that was all nothing else. Was it precise and restrictive? Yes but that is what I would require to support food stamps and other government programs. There should be phase outs and there should be TIGHT restrictions on the use.
Problem is corps got their grubby lobbyists hands into the pot and now it is almost anything in the store and most fast food places you can go. That to me is absurd and goes beyond the purpose of assistance from the government. If someone wants to use food stamps for their staples then good and they want to blow their money on junk food that is fine but not that they can use government subsidies for junk food or fast food or garbage crap. Corps have wrecked the food stamp industry and now with the program being electronic it has brought in massive fraud because there is no verification or way to restrict who can use the funds and cheating is rampant and fraud is out of control.
On the other topic I would rather scrap the war funds and scrap the corporate freebies until we ran a balanced budget based on DOMESTIC needs, almost like we need to have a core budget and that we require to run without debt, all non-domestic citizen based expenses are not categorized in the core and that includes corporate freebies of ANY sort, i dont care if the premise is job creation or whatever other deflective tool I say we should run the government without debt and if we can do that the other lobby lap dogs can bark at congress and get congress to issue debt for THOSE PURPOSES and have it be well known and understood.

Thats the plus side of it being an electronic debit card but unfortunately it has also made abuse and fraud easier to conduct. Now you can do self check using the EBT debit card and nobody can know or think anything about it.
When I was a checker I didnt care if someone used those funds, they had to qualify for it based on need and there was specific items that could be purchased that served high value nutritional purposes, that is what this program should be about, nutrition and self sufficiency with privacy and purpose.

Wall i totally agree with everything you said and there are lots of people getting free stuff that shouldnt. But in the overall big picture, i still thinking the super rich getting my tax dollars is a bigger fraud then food stamp fraud or other programs. But i agree fraud is fraud.
Those very same people who were giving you dirty looks, should go to the airplane store and watch the rich people buying those airplanes with the tax dollars of those people who gave you dirty looks. I would rather you get the food.
It was many years ago. I had paper coupons/stamps, not a debit card.
I think SWIFT will be away on her ERAS tour at that time but Beyonce might!
