I know I called Tulsi my darkhorse but I have to admit I give Pett Buttigreg a shot at the moment. I don't know how he'll debate and all of his positions yet, of course. I do know that he'll resonate well with the public and may actually have a shot. I like Sherrod Brown, too. He's a straight shooter and gruff. People generally feel he's authentic and that has to count for something.

Trump said tonight "The Green New Deal sounds like a failure of a High Schoolers term paper"... I wonder if he comes up with that? That's brilliant, and 100% accurate. Wreck the airline industry and the fossil fuel industry, sounds like a winning platform to me...

In short, yes. I believe that anyone will pose a reasonable threat to Trump. I know which candidates I wouldn't nominate I doubt that Gillibrand, Harris or Warren will end up being the nominee, though. Obama was relatively unknown before he made his run during the primaries and Trump wasn't anticipated to be the Republican favorite until he gained momentum during the primaries as well. Win or lose, the next Democratic nominee is probably going to be someone you're not all that familiar with at the moment.
However, I don't really care what Republicans think. Voter participation is going to increase and that'll slightly favor Democrats for the overall numbers. Republicans already turn their constituents out at a high rate. In addition to that, Trump narrowly won a few swing states. He is going to need to outperform his previous numbers to have an electoral victory. I don't see him taking Wisconsin after Foxconn happened. I believe that Trump isn't as popular as Republicans currently estimate he is and they may be in more trouble than they realize. I didn't even get into Republicans purging moderates from their party. I think that's going to hurt them in competitive districts for other races. I suppose we'll see.

Oh, I think that Trump declaring a national emergency for a wall is absolutely foolish. I'll just copy and paste something I posted on an article recently.
Pelosi and Democrats are doing what voters wanted. They want
Congress to act as a check on Trump. It's a system of checks and
balances. That's how it's supposed to work. So no, they are not going
to give Trump and Republicans a new border wall as a present. Do you
comprehend how fing stupid that would look? I guess Republicans don't
get that Trump is not in an advantageous spot. He does not have the
leverage unless you want a future Democratic president to use
emergencies for their causes. I don't even think it's smart for
Republicans to do for 2020. I estimate enough Americans will not
believe it's a real emergency and they'll want Trump out of office. I
would prefer he do it. I know it's a bad strategy and probably the
worst fricken option on the board. The longer this goes on, the worse
it is for Republicans. If they're dumb enough to gamble on 2020 just to
get a border wall, then let these morons go all-in. I could use the
amusement.

This is one of the few issues I split from Democrats on, but it's pretty rare for me to do it. I think I mentioned it on here before. They want being transgender to be normalized and accepted. I don't have any animosity toward someone who is. However, you can't convince me that it is logical and that people aren't confused about their identities. My guess is that what happens is these individuals don't fit in that well and they mistakenly feel like it must be due to the gender. There's a customer I have whose daughter is going through this right now. I think it's funny because they seem like traditional Republicans. I just go by seeing George Bush's book lying around. I didn't ask for their political affiliation. I presumed. I do know the mother talked about how it bothered her and she was worried her daughter might go through with the surgery to change herself. Her kid is in high school now. I honestly don't care that much but it does apply to Hockey's barb. I don't think it's normal. I may tolerate it but you can't possibly force me to accept it. The Democrats need to learn that some of their social issues should be kept in the background and to let the public make those adjustments.
