Because he said it was a hoax and down played it significantly. He did not listen to scientists because it did not jibe with his narrative. He did not model any of the strategies to slow the spread. He knew as evidenced by his statements to Woodard that the virus was dangerous. He is about himself. He has increased the death toll and financial toll on this nation. To deny this defies any critical thinking whatsoever. Still the majority of people that do not see an issue and continue to act recklessly are those who support the "president". The statement he has made that is probably the most factual is the idea that he could shoot someone on fifth avenue and walk away.
