Another Retired 4 star General Backs Biden,
Says A 2nd Trump Term Would Put Democracy 'At Risk'

Retired four-star Air Force Gen. Chuck Boyd is one of hundreds of military voices speaking out
against President Trump this election. Late last month, Boyd, who fought in Vietnam and
spent seven years there as a prisoner of war, joined nearly 500 national security leaders
who endorsed Democrat Joe Biden.

In a video endorsement, Boyd says that ever since he returned from Vietnam,
he has been a Republican, "but quietly."
Boyd tells NPR, he thinks Trump is a danger to democracy.

"My name is Chuck Boyd. General. Retired. I spent 36 years in the United States Air Force;
almost seven of those as a prisoner of war in Vietnam. Since my return I’ve been a
Republican, but quietly. I fervently believe that military officers should not get involved
with presidential politics, even when retired. But this year is different. Donald Trump’s
assault on the rule of law that makes the democracy possible has been so egregious
I’ve decided to speak out. We have an alternative. If we want a working democracy in
2024, we need to vote for Joe Biden this year. I’m gonna vote for him. I hope you do too."

Basic function of government is to protect its citizens.  Any president who doesn't do this job doesn't deserve to be re-elected.  Trump is dangerous for the US.  He endorses domestic terrorists, nearly starts a war and is incapable of handling the greatest public health crisis in decades.  According to Oxford study, over 100,000 more Americans would be alive and 9 million more employed if Trump administration just follow pandemic plans that have existed since 2005.  Previously, global health security index rates US as best prepared nation against pandemics because of Bush and Obama administrations.

This endorsement appears significant, many of the Republicans who endorse Joe Biden are either retired or former officials. Charlie Baker is an incumbent, that's unusual. I think we will see more Republicans endorsing Biden down the stretch.

Kelly the former chief of staff says Trump is the most flawed person he ever met.  The depth of his dishonesty is astounding.  Taylor a former DHS chief says Trump calls individuals in government who disagree with him "deep state."  Another DHS official Neumann criticizes Trump for not denouncing white supremacists.  GOP senator Sasse says Trump mocks evangelicals behind closed doors and kisses dictators' butts.  His family treats the presidency like a business opportunity.  Another GOP senator Romney blames Trump's rhetoric for hate filled state of politics.  Giuliani's daughter is voting for Biden.

According to yahoo, Murdoch the owner of Fox news and New York post predicts a landslide victory for Biden because Trump's failed coronavirus response would lead to defeat.  GOP senators try to distance themselves from Trump but it may be too late.
