Bernie Sanders wants to bring in a 4-day workweek, which would see workers paid the same for 8 hours less work every week
Let's just do basic economics here, for the worker this is a slam dunk hands down yes vote. For the business it is anything but. First of all, ever since the government handouts during covid worker are lazy AF. Sure, the jobs report shows numbers that mean squat, most of those part time jobs were eliminated because of covid closings.
Perfect example, UPS Teamsters won a huge contract wage increases in the first year. Their next two years are less than what COLA will be but thats another point, not this one. So, what did the CEO former CFO of Home Depot do to please the shareholders? Layoffs and it was reported 12.5k but the bean counter former CFO turned CEO can't turn off her spreadsheet. There is no way to sugar coat this, ANY Publicly traded business in our current day to day lives cannot sustain massive wages in order to compete. In UPS's case they have FX and USPS in the USA and more in Europe/Asia. They are profitable but when you set the bar at 98 million and only clear 95 million profit it's not cutting it. Of course, the CEO is going to get a bonus and massive raise, duhhh. But layoffs are coming hard.
Just using UPS as a point, the California $20 min wage and proposed $50 fast food raise?? Would you pay $50 at In n Out for a double double meal? It's happening at five guys buy me. McD's is crazy up in price unless you order on the app and put a coupon or two in and I know this cause my young kids love the happy meal.
This is what the socialist wants you to buy into, they want everyone to have a handout to rely on and not question them when they have an 80-year-old rerun for election.
Say what you want about Trump, but the Libs had nothing better to throw out there. Lets run down the list,
Bernie - no
Hilary - no
Bike Mike Obama - no
Newsom -no
Keep pushing further to the left and see your front runner hide further into the shadows

4 days work week is becoming more popular at businesses and organizations around the world. Vast majority of workplaces remove up to 3 hours and not 8 hours from week. Longer hours per day is more suitable for white collar work where wasted hours can be eliminated. For example, sales. Benefits include better work-life balance, higher productivity, less stress and lower operating costs. Fewer overworked employees and lower unemployment rate.

Most Americans that work 4 days a week, go onto overtime jobs or start other small business with the free time. It is not good for businesses or the results it gets.
The reason the Dems are pushing this, they can say it created more jobs as the cost of living is so high most will need a few 32 hour a week jobs just to survive the harm this current administration did to the US.
Trump will have a hard time fixing this horror show the far left caused.

It the dumbest idea ever but gaining traction so pay attention you unemployed college kids living in a van down by the river

I don't think any of you guys have any concrete data on a 4 day work week vs a 5 day. Many professions already work untraditional work weeks. Four ten hour days, Four nine hours days, Three twelve hour days, etc.
TIME TO BRING BACK THE OBAMA CAGES!

I did three 12 hour days (8 pm to 8 am) back in the early 70's. The work week was 8 pm Sunday night to 8 am Wednesday morning. Early 20's & absolutely loved those hours. We were all about the same age, single & after work we did things together like golf, fish, play softball, bowl while everyone else was working. No lines in the banks or grocery stores.
Back then, plenty of people worked those hours to help keep the Big Apple running.
Now with many still working from home, who knows what "real" hours people work while corporations are electronically making sure people put in their time.
