New York (CNN Business)President Trump's Thursday night convention speech making the case for his reelection was
lower-rated than Joe Biden's speech one week ago, according to overnight Nielsen ratings.
About 21.6 million viewers watched coverage of Trump's RNC address across nine cable and broadcast networks, DOWN from 23.6 million viewers who watched Biden's DNC address on the same nine networks.
The totals may fluctuate slightly when final numbers are released later in the day, but Biden clearly edged out Trump!
The Democratic convention was also higher-rated than the RNC overall when the audience for all four days is tallied up.
The president's ratings obsession is well-documented. He has tweeted about ratings hundreds of times. Source: https://tinyurl.com/y5qm2d2a

Trash Trump’s ‘Flat’ RNC Speech
Fox News anchor Chris Wallace and senior political analyst Brit Hume ripped President Trump’s 70-minute Republican National Convention speech on Thursday night, describing it as “surprisingly flat” and lacking in “excitement.”
The “All-Star Panel” at the president’s favorite cable news channel largely gave his lengthy and rambling speech a thumbs-down.
Wallace, noting that the “impressive” post-speech fireworks were still booming in the air, said he “was surprised at the lack of fireworks at the president’s speech tonight.” Pointing out that “it was far too long,” the Fox News Sunday moderator said it felt like a State of the Union or even a campaign speech.
“Chris has a point,” Hume said. “The speech was very, VERY long. I don’t know that any speech that is an hour and ten minutes uninterrupted by anything visual can work very well.” The veteran Fox host said, the president was a “little flat.”

Vegas has the race as a dead heat but keep believing in the polls, tv ratings and Santa Claus. You are a coin flip away from another 4 years.
Didn't Vegas have Clinton winning in 2016 too as the favorite? So from that logic why on Earth should we be trusting the magical "Vegas" odds either? From that perspective neither Vegas or polls should be trusted right?
Probably just let it play out. Trump's best hope is that voting turnout is low. Trumpe's definitely should not be confident with this handling of the pandemic, current employment numbers, and weakness in job growth.

Hey Deezy ... (oh, I see someone made "parole") .... anyway to your point, we have to laugh how certain "trumpettes" love to point to an obvious "one-off" election result in 2016 -- where Clinton was ahead in BOTH polling and a heavy -450 FAV in VEGAS -- and yet today these people seemingly tout Vegas odds as some sort of inherent truth?!? ROTFLMAO. VEGAS had the 14-2 league-leading Ravens as -500 favs to whip the Titans !
Skilled handicappers know better than to put much weight, if any, on a "one-off"

You're right Gamble....
In a trend that began in July, odds that President Trump will win reelection have risen from 36% to an average of 50-50, with some gambling sites giving him a better than even chance of winning.
Oddschecker’s Pete Watt said Friday that Trump’s odds haven’t been this positive since May 28, 92 days ago, and come on the morning after the president accepted the Republican Party’s nomination to run for a second term.( but-t-t how can this be ? Biden had more viewer's watching his convention)
Watt said that some betting sites have Trump beating Biden. “Some oddsmakers have even cut Trump’s odds to -110, demonstrative of a 52.38% likelihood of securing a second term,” said his analysis.

Trumpers live in an alternate reality where they just twist and justify any and everything to comfort themselves into thinking Trump is dominating the race. It's quite comical. According to them the RNC was the greatest show ever made, while most everyday Americans either did not tune in or were not impressed according to viewership numbers. But then again their argument is probably that Nielsen ratings are made up too, just like the polls. COVID-19 is also made up, as well as unemployment numbers, and angry suburban women. It's all made up if it goes against Trump.

Trump’s RNC Loses Bigly to Biden’s DNC in TV Ratings !
The Daily Beast Aug. 28, 2020 2:55PM ET
Earlier this week, The Daily Beast reported that President Trump had one thing on his mind heading into his Republican National Convention. The president was telling his closest aides that he was determined to beat his rival Joe Biden in the TV ratings. He was requesting daily ratings for the DNC and insisted that his RNC spectacle would demolish their “pathetic” numbers, according to a senior administration official.
According to initial Nielsen numbers, President Trump’s speech Thursday night drew three million fewer viewers across the three broadcast networks and three major cable news networks than Biden’s speech one week earlier.

The television ratings for President Trump’s acceptance speech at the RNC are in — and he probably won’t like them.
According to overnight data from Nielsen, Trump’s primetime speech on Thursday night drew a rating of 14.1, which means 14.1 percent of homes in more than 50 major markets around the country tuned in.
Joe Biden, by comparison, drew a 17.5 rating for his acceptance speech at last week’s Democratic National Convention.

the main thing is that anyone who watched all or parts of both knows that the democrats national convention was clearly superior in content, facts, and ultimately public ratings than the loser RNC.

Vegas had Trump at -160 at one point. You know, before fat, loser, scumbag Trump couldn't manage coronavirus at all and directly contributed to Americans dying. That's because he wouldn't shut down travel from Europe and that's how it spread in New York. That was earlier this year but oh, that didn't matter and so you're suggesting the current odds are indicative of Trump's chances. Trump supporters are such stupid lowlifes. They'll manipulate any kind of data and conjure up a bunch of BS to support their narrative. The important thing for the public to remember is that Republican Lives Don't Matter. Whenever they die, that means the world is a better place and the garbage has been removed.

Trump’s acceptance speech draws only 21.6 million TV viewers, trailing the audience for Biden and 3 previous GOP nominees!
LA Times, Tribune News Service, Aug 28, 2020
The final night of the Republican convention which featured President Trump’s acceptance speech from the White House South Lawn, had an average audience of 21.6 million viewers Thursday, putting it nearly 3 million viewers behind the TV turnout for his Democratic opponent, Joe Biden.
Trump’s rating, which was the highest rated spot of the RNC, will also finish well below the 35 million TV viewers who watched him accept his party’s nomination in 2016 and fall well short of the acceptance speeches of the previous three Republican nominees: John McCain (38.9 million viewers in 2008), Mitt Romney (30.3 million viewers in 2012), and G. W. Bush (27.6 million in 2004).
