President Biden on his first day in office will take a range of executive actions, including implementing a national mask mandate on federal property, revoking a permit for the Keystone XL oil pipeline and reversing a travel ban from several largely Muslim and African countries, officials said.
Coming after Mr. Biden was inaugurated as the 46th president in a midday ceremony, the actions are intended to signal a more aggressive approach to the coronavirus pandemic and end some of President Trump’s key policies while setting the agenda for the next four years.
Mr. Biden will sign executive orders from the Oval Office in the afternoon. “There are many more to come,“ incoming press secretary Jen Psaki said in a preview call with reporters. While the new president will take specific aim at some of Mr. Trump’s actions, “his focus is on moving the country forward.”
Mr. Biden planned 15 executive orders for his first day in office, far more than any of his modern predecessors, none of whom signed more than one. President Trump signed an order on his inauguration day aimed at reversing the Affordable Care Act, while Barack Obama didn’t sign any on Jan. 20, 2009. Bill Clinton signed an ethics order on his first day. All of them signed additional orders during their first week in office.

The Canadian company behind the Keystone XL oil pipeline said on Wednesday that it has suspended work on the pipeline in anticipation of newly sworn-in United States President Joe Biden revoking its permit.
Biden’s day-one plans included moving to revoke a presidential permit for the pipeline.

Nature, I don't mind this. Forces Canada to build one east to west. This way they would have a better shot at controlling their oil! I will say tho till they do this whoever has the rail line going to Houston from Alberta is going to enjoy years of solid profit.

Warren buffet owns most hard assets such as railings and locomotive transport logistic operations...
It is safer means of transport. And the Chinese have offered assistance to move oil West. I am not sure if Irving energy sector has addressed modernizing a east corridor for the product.
It comes down to piping regular steel will fail within five years inockel lined. Steel tubular percussion at 7/16 strength will allow. 100 year window before system failure but the material is expensive hence why it has stalled in Canada's permitting system and an American corridor with less standards needed.

Great job Biden....I am no fan of his but this pipeline does not help the US oil supply, Canada and China were the winners with Keystone, they have sold future production to China and that is a fact. So if China wants Canadian sour crude to be refined then build refineries on the west coast and do it in the country, ship it from that side. Outside refiners like Valero this did nothing for the US except put tons of pipe on our land which leak, corrode, degrade and destroy the land it runs down.
I hope they tear it all out and remove it from ever existing, take all of that off the land.

I am not well versed on this subject, but I do agree that energy investments in the USA should go towards greener energy solutions. The consequence of runoff in our rivers and streams and throughout our land is a big problem. This focus of the solution should be extended to many industries outside of oil, but this specific is not an issue that I will bash Biden on.
Gamble for entertainment, invest for wealth!

On another environmental issue, this came from Ted Cruz today..
"By rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement, President Biden indicates he’s more interested in the views of the citizens of Paris than in the jobs of the citizens of Pittsburgh. This agreement will do little to affect the climate and will harm the livelihoods of Americans."
He can't be serious, right?

11,000 workers associated with the Keystone Pipeline were also ecstatic as they lost their job by the stroke of President Biden's sharpie. A total of 2B in wages will be lost. Maybe Jen Psaki, the new Biden press secretary can give each worker affected a sympathetic phone call.

He'll of job security thing isn't even complete and two major leaks in the system. The system failure will happen... Alot work repairing a system that has yet to be completed.
Keystone XL Pipeline Environmental Impact Leaks and the pipeline Tar sands oil is thicker, more acidic, and more corrosive than lighter conventional crude, and this ups the likelihood that a pipeline carrying it will leak. Indeed, one study found that between 2007 and 2010, pipelines moving tar sands oil in Midwestern states spilled three times more per mile than the U.S. national average for pipelines carrying conventional crude. Since it first went into operation in 2010, TC Energy’s original Keystone Pipeline System has leaked more than a dozen times; one incident in North Dakota sent a 60-foot, 21,000-gallon geyser of tar sands oil spewing into the air. Most recently, on October 31, 2019, the Keystone tar sands pipeline was temporarily shut down after a spill in North Dakota of reportedly more than 378,000 gallons. And the risk that Keystone XL will spill has only been heightened: A study published in early 2020, co-authored by TC Energy’s own scientists, found that the anti-corrosion coating on pipes for the project is defective from being stored outside and exposed to the elements for the last decade.

Only a half million gallons of tar sand in 2 years. 12 major leaks in a decade. Can we find a way to invest 12billion into an energy project that destroy millions of acres in habitat for an already stressed ecosystem.
I dont know maybe tboone pickets wind mill , methane extraction system could be a viable project as we push to the future.

@JOHNNY_ODAE None of us will like it when gas goes to $4 or $5 a gallon. Nice move Biden!
no 4 or 5 dollar gas means more energy is being used than produced...
I would like gasoline at 1.50 meaning the demand is weak. Barrel of crude at 20.00 meaning there is a glut and oil is no longer in demand.
Destroying our biosphere for profit is blasphemous. You can't destroy the place we live and talk of any future. Erroision of our environment concerns is the first step in our own eventual demise.

Just to be clear the USA recieved none of this product unless the pipe leaks on our soil. And even then it is Canadian property the Chinese has already purchased.

I'll give you your only path presidency for a conservative Republican Catholic to win. Santorum Rubio ticket.
Now that America realizes Biden is actually a Catholic.
Such as other democratic Catholic that swore the oath to become occupiers of 1600 Penn ave west wing...
They only that can split the Catholic vote and the Latino vote would be a Rubio Santorum ticket.... This is the only platform that can move the independent minds to one side or the other. If either chose Collins or Murkowski it could lead to a ticket that can win even if those republicans were first on the ticket....

How many of those workers were American?
from www.politifact.com/factchecks Our ruling:
A Facebook post allegess that Biden’s executive order revoking the Keystone XL pipeline "is destroying 11,000 jobs."
That number is an estimate, and the claim LACKS context about the longevity of Keystone jobs.
TC Energy said more than 1,000 people are out of work because of Biden’s executive order. In October, the company said it expected to employ more than 11,000 Americans in 2021 and generate more than $1.6 in gross wages.
*BUT* both TC Energy and the State Department have said the majority of those jobs would only be temporary. A 2014 report found that the company would need only 50 employees to maintain the Keystone XL pipeline once it’s finished, and just 35 of them would be permanent jobs.
Temporary jobs are still jobs. BUT, that post could leave the wrong impression without full context. We rate it only Half True.

so you answer.... Oh that right no answer cause this creates more jobs than lost. That so it crude is still purchased by China and china now must comply with Canada in permits to push their pipeline to Vancouver black water is willing to scrap the keystone stiff... It leaks like a flower siff.... More American engineer jobs will be needed to comply with permitting process and extraction of a pipeline material that leaks even before it is stalled...
Wake up.... You are confused. You are now vehemently challenging your church your knights of Columbus to the Supreme knight . the Vatican and a Democrat raised in legacy of JFK.... how much coolant have you invested iver the years. Joe Biden is a good man who can work has worked and will work across the shale of the Senate.
He is much the Joe Biden that lost half his family in a car accident as he was on innauguration first order of business let us pray in a Catholic mass ceremony.
Last time that building was used in any presidential purpose was when little Johnny now deceased had an over sized watch on his wrist....
