One of the better speeches he's made and he accurately hit all the factual highlights!

I especially liked how he highlighted the vast number of bipartisan legislation he signed into law,  totally unprecedented by any president in their first two years!

In fighting spirit, Biden revels in baiting republicans into hissing and booing despite McCarthy earlier caution for decorum.  Best moment is Biden owning Greene.  This shows republicans are fanatics with no idea what the truth is and they don't care.

Pundits on MSM and cable news networks which are NOT pro-fascism (ie. MAGA-trumpism) and various media websites are hailing that SOTU as one of the best!  He's had a few better speeches, sure, but this one ranks up there for certain!

Biden did deliver a good speach.

When McCarthy was the first to stand and clap that republicans and democrats need to come together and work for solutions I sat in dismay...

Imagine no one tore up the speach afterwards....  Republicans and Democrats all Americans he nailed it. This was his best speach in 3 years in my opinion.

Yes trump did raise the deficit however this was because bipartisan. Legislation to prevent the economic collapse under covid 19 drove the deficit.

Yes biden created 12.5 million jobs in 24 months, but trump created 24 million jobs in his last 9 months. 

Republicans and democrats have agreed social security and medicare are not going to cut... However , raises are still on the table. 

Republicans are asking for freezes in all spending but their own caucus is having serious reservations in freezing defense levels.

Tax cuts , are not an option and raising income for capital gains and multi billionaire corporations doesn't seem to be an option. We need to find some way where we take in revenue and spend revenue at some kind of debt neutral terms. 

If we can come to debt neutral then we can lower the debt. So let's see if the republicans democrats can come together in some form of cooperation .

Some MAGA person asked if there was anything those of us who are NOT MAGA didn't like about the leader of the trump crime family when he was in office ...... 

Here's a quick list off the top of my head but I'm sure I missed plenty:

  •  he refered to our fallen service members as "losers" and "suckers"

  • Continuing the war in Afghanistan, costing lives and almost $300 million PER DAY to our budget, then signing a surrender deal with the Taliban leading directly to the deaths of 13 Americans when Biden tried to get everyone out.

  • inciting a violent insurrection (TREASON!!!)

  • refusing a peaceful transfer of power

  • the BIG FCKIN LIE! - which clearly widened the political polarity and increased tribalism, now making it near impossible to get anything done in congress

  • selling out our American intel agencies to Putin in Helsinki

  • emboldening bigots and racists through his own bigotry and racism

  • tariffs that crippled some parts of our agriculture and started inflation rolling

  • failure to manage the covid19 pandemic properly and setting in motion a negative attitude among republican followers leading ultimately to the deaths of over 1 million Americans from a contagious airborne virus

  • lining his own pockets at the expense of taxpayers

  • repeatedly lying to the American public (documented over 30,000 falsehoods)

  •  calling for a boycott of Major League Baseball

  •  nepotism

  •  abusing Twitter for personal vengeance and petty demonization

  •  criminally trying to interfere in election results and conspire to overturn legitimate results

  •  abusing the "pardon" power to save political allies

  •  abusing his authority and pulpit to exact petty revenge on individuals and entities who disagreed with him

  •  demonizing the media (just like Hitler and Stalin did!)

  •  failure to significantly reduce child poverty

  •  refusal to intervene when his mob was actively looking to lynch the vice-president

  •  failure to invoke overdue Infrastructure projects despite monthly promises to do so!

  •  failure to codify abortion law to protect women's rights - which are supported by over 64% of the American public!

  •  allowing babies to be ripped away from their mothers at the border (most of whom have never been reunited because of trump)

  •  promising to reduce our national debt but instead increased it at a rate more than any president in history

  •  paid hush money to a porn star he fcked while married in order to supress a scandal in the weeks prior to the 2016 election

  •  encouraging Russia to interfere in our elections - which they did!

  •  14.7% unemployment at one point; leaving Biden a mess with 6.3% unemployment (which thankfully Joe Biden has got uneployment to 3.4% now!)

  •  22.4 MILLION jobs lost in 2020!!!!  (but thankfully Biden recovered all of them!)

  •  leaving a diasterous economy when he left office and a nation in chaos because of him

  •  illegally removing government documents, then OBSTRUCTION in the effort to recover the files he stole

  •  refusing to address climate change (which he declared was a Chinese hoax)

  •  causing America to be the laughing stock of the world for 4 years

Your last sentence is my entire problem with our government.

Integrity is out the window. When they all vote party lines is the proof.

We are no longer the Red, White and Blue and have become the Red vs Blue.

Term limits should be forced on them and some of the laws they have made over the years to protect themselves and their benefits and their raises

should be removed. They work for themselves, then somewhere down the line they consider us.

They need to be shown that the U.S. is us....not them

Is it possible to make a state sponsored amendment to the constitution that forces them to have a balanced budget?

That the congress must forced not to spend beyond their means on purpose.

Yes things can happen that is in forseen economy adjustable interest rates ect... 

However can we least expect these law makers to pay the bills without maxing out every credit card available and apply for more credit instead of here what you make then this is what you can spend...

In many countries, increasing debt limit is automatic.  Normally, balanced budgets are only required for municipal and state governments but not federal government.  Increasing debt limit allows federal government to pay bills already approved by congress.  Not for new spending.   If House republicans want to cut spending, they should introduce new legislation.  Instead they prefer to resort to extortion which needlessly threatens US economy.  So refusing to raise debt limit is irresponsible.
