Stumptownstu and KellyM are right.  No evidence of fraudulent reporting by doctors to inflate covid cases and deaths.  Politifact rates false the claim Center for disease control said 6% of death toll is due to coronavirus only.  Those who die from coronavirus often have  other medical conditions.  Twitter flags false video of Fauci saying masks don't work which is taken out of context.  Video omits Fauci recommending masks.  No evidence Fauci said travel ban saves thousands of lives.  Instead Trump made that false claim.  Democrat governors didn't force nursing homes to accept covid patients.  New York report concludes nursing home staff and visitors are likely the main cause of covid deaths.  Actually, Fauci has mostly been correct but Trump administration has been trying to discredit him.

The premise was that, allegedly, Fauci said: "Masks don't work" 

but as with most of what come from the trump-cult, that statement is patently FALSE.

He clearly indicated how important masks are for healthcare workers and the sick, thus he clearly understands masks DO work.

On a related issue - but not the same -  Fauci - trying to fix the critical shortage of masks for healthcare workers thanks to trump's *FAILURE* - stated to the effect that masks for the public weren't yet necessary. This is completely logical, at that particular moment when stated.  

These are separate issues (but related)

However, in discussions or debates one cannot conflate issues. Specificity is  key.

Looks like he is gone for good fellas. No need to debate this. Dr. Fauci never said at any point in time that "Masks don't work". That simply was never said, even during the earliest stages of the virus.

Follow the data. Science with this disease has had to make turns, but eventually the answers will come via the Faucis of the World and not from the total fools that run our country!

6/24: Attends Trump rally, mask-less

7/2: Tests positive for Covid-19

7/10: Says he’s improving

7/15: Says his doctors seem happy

7/27: Says he’s really getting better

7/30: Dies

Why Mr. Donald J Trump takes his face mask off in front of public, and then walks into the White House minutes later without wearing a mask? Isn't he a Covid-19 carrier, why he removes his mask and causes dire danger to other people around him?

Piggy downplayed this disease while Americans were dying across the country & now he's telling people not to worry about covid. He and his supporters ridiculed anyone taking the virus seriously & helped divide the country even further.
