congratulations, you 100% missed the point of my post.
the bad behavior i was referring to earlier was, shockingly, being in the us ILLEGALLY. and now you want to reward the bad behavior with a chance to become a citizen!!!!! how about becoming a citizen the proper way?
He's just trying to avoid the inevitable, and that he is wrong, and he has lost the debate. He took the foolish side of the debate, and tried to spin it his way, and then pin you down... duh...do they pay taxes, duh, what is the harm duh, blah, blah, blah...whaterver...bottomline is that they are eventually going to have to leave the country one way or another...they might as well leave peaceable, because the other way is going to be a mofo for everyone.

yes, true.....but migrate somewhere the legal way no?
Maybe its easier to do it illegally plus they know we don't enforce it so who cares about the law
the legality issue is a political issue. the causes of which I speak are humanitarian issues. since 9/11, the process of legal immigration impedes legal immigration, imv, having become a process no one is intended to complete (sort of like the 1,500 page application in Boulder Colorado for aspiring pot growers).
But what i see over and over again are people reacting to the manifestations of immigration while ignoring the causes.
I don't think there's anything "easy" about entering this country illegally or living here without citizenship. I am quite sure it's extremely stressful.

I think all of you need a lesson in history. If we were to deport all illegal immigrants, there would be nobody left but the Native American Indians. Why you ask.Well, here’s why.First, all of the blacks would have to go.Blacks were brought here and sold as slaves, so I doubt if any of them were issued visas or green cards. So, all blacks would have to leave.Next would be the Asians. They were brought here to work on the railroads and mine the mines in California, so I doubt if any of them got visas or green cards either. So, all Asians, Japanese, Chinese, Koreans, etc would have to go.The Irish would be next. They were brought here to work on the railroads in the east and probably didn’t get green cards or visas either.See ya Irish.Next in line would be the Italians. Most of them either snuck in or were brought here by the mafia to do their work. So, see ya Italians. The English and Scots have to go since they were instrumental in slaughtering the Native American Indians and taking their land away from them.So that makes them criminals and they have to go.Now, that only leaves the Spanish, or should I say Latinos, like Columbus and his group, who supposedly discovered America, but now we know they didn’t, so yeah, the Latinos have to go too.So, that only leaves America left with…. Wow, Native American Indians who were here to begin with and this land really belongs to them and maybe we should be asking them who should stay in this country and who should leave! But most of you probably wouldn’t like their answer, would you!!!
Now, having said all of that, maybe some, or all, of you should look back on your ancestory to determine if your parents, grandparents, great grandparent came here legally or not before you take the stances you have chosen.

Perhaps, and just maybe, that illegal will develop a cure for cancer, world hunger, or develop a weapon to rid the world of other illegals.
I'm willing to put up a ton of money that they won't! n fact tat will be the lock of the decade! I'll also wager that there will be a very large population growth in the State of New Hampshire over the next 4 years. Basically all the people who can't take Massachusetts politics anymore and their crooked agendas will be performing a mass exodus.

am i not allowed to call someone out for being a hypocrite?
i wasnt aware merely pointing out the obvious was being insulting.
and why do you feel the need to call me out for something rather mundane when there are so many more egregious words written on here every day that you dont say boo to?

it wasnt written to wsc, he just felt the need to butt in
This isnt the first time, nor is it the first person we have warned.
If you have a tough time keeping on topic and not making it personal, maybe this forum isnt meant for you.
When you disagree with someone, you quickly turn to bashing and personal digs. I hope you can modify this style and continue posting here going forward.

if theoretical need not apply, why are you even talking? your last posts have been nothing but theoretical!!!!!!!
do you know how college admissions work? every year at every school qualified applicants are denied. it doesnt take a rocket scientist (apparently it does take someone who cannot think beyond the far left of the political spectrum though) to see if jose is admitted, than somewhere along the line there is a steve who is not admitted.
I actually do know how college admissions work. Only at top 20 universities and graduate schools however. Perhaps you have some evidence to show me that Jose' was admitted over a similarly qualified Steve. So I ask again...do you have evidence that the illegal immigrant is admitted over a similarly qualified non-illegal. Keep in mind that similarly qualified takes into account test scores and grades only since there is no current affirmative action boosts received by illegal immigrants.

yet again, another covers poster cant go 1 day without being a hypocrite.
You are making a mistake common among unseasoned debators. A theoretical or nonsensical arguments/assertion is not the same as a hypothetical.
Let's recap. You suggested that a class action lawsuit could be filed over this matter. While I did state it was a theoretical comment, I was trying to be nice. It was actually a nonsensical assertion. A class action lawsuit would be impossible because there are not a large group identifiable as injured parties not to mention the school is engaging in a legal act. Could one person file suit? Possibly, although the suit would be based on the constitutionality of the law, not based on personal injury (again, school is engaging ina legal act).
A hypothetical is distinct because it is a possibility, no matter how remote. So poster X (keep in mind, I generally only refer to posters by name when I think they are capable of seasoned and fluent debate) said that an illegal could pay for an education here and return to their native country to work against us. That hypothetical, while somewhat silly and remote, has an antithesis, which is that the illegal obtaining the education could also stay here and solve world hunger and cancer. Again, this may or may not be remote, but it is a hypothetical, and thus, possible. Your statement about class action lawsuits as not.

immigration both legal or illegal is indeed a legal issue not a political issue...don't confuse the two
yep, it may be tough to gain citizenship but then again anything worth doing in life is tough.........
its a tough world and we dont live in a perfect place....letting illegals in by droves does more harm than good in the long run

So I ask again...do you have evidence that the illegal immigrant is admitted over a similarly qualified non-illegal. Keep in mind that similarly qualified takes into account test scores and grades only since there is no current affirmative action boosts received by illegal immigrants.
IMHO the issue is that an illegal, by law, is in this country illegally and is subject to deportation as defined by existing laws and should not be granted the same benefits that legal citizens have.
The current state law in question about attending a high school for 3 years grants them the same rights as a legal citizen is obviously flawed and needs to be changed.
Funny how federal law can trump the Az state law on immigration but isnt used to override the states laws on high school "residency"

Why is that?
Before arguing about the law, it is important to know what the law does and doesn't say.
The law doesn't refer to high school nor does it prevent deportation.
It merely deals with students applying to school in CA. Keep in mind that 95% of those illegals that are in colleges end up with citizenship. Thus, many of them have started the process before starting school. Most people would argue they shouldn't be working, they shouldn't receive government handouts, nor committing crimes. So, instead they are actually paying for school.
Not one person has suggested what the exact harm is except by saying "they are illegal." I get that but we all know that deportation comes with a huge price tag. If deporation isn't as easy as it seems, again, show me the harm in the law. Who is hurt? How? What is their remedy? I can tell you who gains...Californians but keeping 15/20 of instate students in CA to become better earners and higher taxpayers. Doesn't it make more sense to CA to have that rather than 15/20 attend school and leave the state after?

It's all about money trickling down to school districts at the end of the day. Then again, "What is the harm in that," right?
In Massachusetts, an illegal haven like California, it costs in the neighborhood of $7,000 per year per student. Multiply that figure by the # of the illegals in the State then multiply it again by 12 to get a nice figure. In essence its the 2nd largest theft in American history behind the bailouts. Notice I didn't use anybodies name because both parties are to blame just as much as the other.
