I'm 34 and I literally pay no attention to Cardi B. She's a marginal rapper, at best, and not the best representation of her generation, race, or socio-economic background. Who among us has never gotten a check and been like, "Damn, Uncle Sam?!" I've gotten $20,000 checks only to  look at a net of $11,000. Here's how I know Miss 'B' has never paid a dime into the system until now. She had the same reaction I did when I got my first "real" paycheck from McDonalds at 16. Up until then, if my neighbor said "I'll give you $5 to mow my lawn" - $5 is what I got. "Taxes" was what you paid when you bought something. So, imagine my surprise when I got my first check.....

Also, watch the end of her rant when she talks about being a boss:

"I've got 8 people working for me handing me invoices! I look at these invoices like..... confused"

"HEAR THE DRUMMER GET WICKED!!!!!!"

Her Wikipedia page says she worked at an Amish supermarket as a teen. When she was fired from that job, she went straight into stripping, which is still a job. A job that's easy to fudge the numbers but a job none the less. So your assessment is wrong. What, did you look up all that info about her but somehow ignore that? Like I said, I think you're just reaching for something that isn't there. Trying to find something political, and racial, where there isn't anything. I mean you used "ethnic" and "person of color" in the same description of her. Maybe you're just mad that a "poor, ethnic, female, person of color, ex-gang member, and ex-stripper" has more money than you for being, at best, a very marginal rapper. What your describing doesn't sound like the reaction of someone getting their first "real" paycheck and realizing how much they took out for taxes. It sounds like someone getting a really big paycheck and realizing how much they took out for taxes. This leads me to believe you've never gotten a really big pay check. After all, they don't take 40% from McDonald's employees. Either way, this is all stupid. It's flipping Cardi B we're talking about. You're better than this, Gimme.
