To bad now that Christie is gone maybe Trump will actually show up for a debate. The remaining candidates quiver to challenge Trump on his business record or his criminal record…..Oh I forget charitable organizations!

Didn't he shut down a bridge in the busiest metropolitan region in the country out of spite or to gain favor or something? Yeah, real great guy.

"Yes agreed! It’s a shame that this is what the country gets as candidates at all levels of government! "
The Uni-Party, Left- Right Paradigm is not your cup of tea? Welcome to the Awakening Party

I don't need a saint but I would prefer a politician that wouldn't close access to a bridge in one of the busiest metropolitan regions in the world, punishing his own constituents and affecting the local economy, out of spite. Then throwing staffers under the bus, punishing them to cover his own fat arse. That's not the kind of guy I would want in the Oval office.

Yeah people who have known this guy for a long time and are from the EC understand he is a strong willed big mouth abrasive kind of guy. He is smart and experienced and knows how to be sincere and listen MUCH MUCH better than Trump but he does not resonate with the out of the EC crowd. He lacks tact I would say that is one of his biggest issues, he talks too often in the wrong situations, takes abrupt extreme actions and says outlandish strange things because he lacks the ability to not be the center of attention.
I can see why some really liked him and some really disliked him, I never did care for his grandstanding and loud mouth back during the times I lived on the EC in Philly.

Living I NJ most of my life I’ve seen more than my share of political clunkers in Trenton! You need lock no further then the Jim McGreevey saga! My personal opinion of is that Chris Christie has always made it a point to appear that he is articulate, sometimes clever, occasionally witty, and he comes off as a straight talker “ The way he has attacked Trump which has been a mission “ This somewhat disguises the fact that he is a bully, he always comes off as the smartest person in the room even when he’s the dumbest, and he’s more concerned with his own image than he is with particular issues. He’s a politician plain and simple, and an effective one, but he’s not a particularly skilled officeholder or publlc servant. Don’t let him con you!
As far a bridge gate I think it’s beyond doubt that his staffers planned it, knowing full well what chaos would ensue and indeed rejoiced in it and were bummed out when it was brought to a stop. Like Watergate, the question is what did Christie know and when did he know it. His staff chose to take one for the party and there all doing well now that the clouds have moved on…..As it always does!
Personally, I think all involved masterminded the whole thing. It’s inconceivable to me that his staff would undertake such a thing on their own. Jmho
For me, the best outcome would be having been the state issuing him orange jumpsuit, size XXXXXXXXXL.

No surprise here as I'm sure this was his intentions from the start.... Vivek dropping out now in support of DJT.
"This entire campaign is about speaking the TRUTH. We did not achieve our goal tonight & we need an America-First patriot in the White House. The people spoke loud & clear about who they want. Tonight I am suspending my campaign and endorsing Donald J. Trump and will do everything I can to make sure he is the next U.S. President. I am enormously proud of this team, this movement, and our country."

Vivek was such a waste of time and money, he had no shot even with the combative loving GOP group, maybe he got involved to solidify the extremists and rile up the conspiracy theorists.
It was interesting watching even a FEW minutes (I refuse to spend life watching political nonsense) of the exit and entry survey details, these religious ultra conservative GOP voters are so enamored with forcing their agenda and personal biases into politics that they ignore some of the most basic core beliefs and support someone who breaks many many of Christ's precepts and teachings. The way people want to make others do what they feel is right matters more than supporting a disgusting abusive pig like Trump, someone who is not religious, not compassionate, not kind, is not at all religious and does not follow what those voters are taught in sunday school every week. Yet there they go marching in to vote for the poison divisive candidate and they actually believe the lies and deception he peddles, that his actions when IN office are not evidence enough that he is a cheat and a liar and will do or say whatever will get his fat butt back in office.

I don't believe even Vivek thought he had a realistic shot.....whatever reasons there are behind the scenes idk but of those you mentioned could very well be true. He seemed to be the "table setter" for Donald. That, and I think he had 2028 on his mind more than 2024.
Trump is a celebrity. People and Americans love celebrities and often blindly ignore any slights, imperfections or blatant indiscretions these celebrities are guilty of. Obviously doesn't make it right nor explain what you described, which is why it is quite the phenomenon with the Big Bad Orange Man
