Warner Brothers Discover brought Licht in and he hoped to bring the failing, far left, often lying network back from the dead. He got rid of obvious far left biased people like Stelter (who is only 37) trying to move the far left network to being more centered. He was recently panned for allowing Donald Trump to have a town hall. Obviously the left doesn't like letting voices that differ from theirs to be heard, they want any opposing views shut down. What do you think of WBD's decision to fire Licht? Do you think they will continue on with trying to be more centrist or return back to being far left and reporting only what they want people to hear/know?

Trump townhall was a ratings success. To begin with, in the past Trump was the only reason CNN was successful. You look at little guys like HuffPost and Rolling Stone. If they don't roll out at least one Trump BS article a day they would be gone.
Totally agree. It was a smart move by him. It was even reported Licht told Trump to "have fun" before going out there. Too bad everyone is hate-filled and only wants to deplatform anyone who doesn't see things the way they do. And yes Trump does pay their bills. Could you imagine what their ratings would look like if they weren't the leaders in TDS?

That is such a brilliant statement, and the left uses it in many different forms.
For example, It is "THE" reason why there are so called "Safe Spaces" at colleges/universities.. Dissenting thought is to be silenced, which results in an echo chamber among the circle jerks.

very true. It's only people who don't have a leg to stand on that want to shut down opposing views. Debate is healthy. It's why so many on here do not respond. First they are likely bots and second, they only agree with each other and ignore any questions and then make snide remarks about others.

Interesting how the "take" on this has a sharp and very visible partisan lens...this thread shows that to a direct T. The GOP side sees the reasons as listed above, the left side sees things almost completely the opposite and the middle is probably nowhere near either extreme.
As I read it the reason was how he conducted himself and how some actions which culminated with recent town halls alienated the viewer base that CNN has moved towards. I highly highly doubt that the right networks will spend time having town halls for every left candidate because why would they? People that tune in to a specific partisan network are not interested in town halls from the other side. I saw several of them recently and wondered why that network would spend time on those politicians when you can find those same politicians on other channels and sources.
Trump does not pay any bills, those partisan angry voters who want his biased, abusive antics pay by watching commercials the networks can sell.

I Don know what you were watching?I watched a few minutes, and was pleased to see that the CNN moderator was not letting him off easy. She cut him off when he started babbling about border security, and asked a follow-up question: “Do you regret anything about January 6” and then reminded him that he was in charge of the National Guard the he tried to blame Nancy Pelosi for security failures.
But then i couldn’t take any more.
