CNN’s struggling prime-time lineup finished seventh in basic cable directly behind Hallmark Channel.
Pretty sure it's safe to say, CNN is NOT a "news" worthy channel.

I said something to this effect in another thread: We are dealing with the fall of society when people are comparing, and lauding, cable news network ratings. What does any of it mean? Do you think there are more people who agree with Fox News than CNN. There aren't. There are more liberals in the country than conservatives. It just is what it is. Even Hillary won the popular vote and she was probably the most unliked candidate in history. So why are Fox's ratings higher, and CNN's waning? Well, it could be that CNN's target audience is wising up to the fact that all cable news is bullshit. That would be a good thing. It could be that their target audiencw is getting their news somewhere else. That could be negative or positive. If they are getting it from fringe groups on social media sites, that's bad. It could mean that CNN's target demographic, liberals, is younger that Fox's. Maybe their out enjoying life and not sitting around watching cable news. Could mean they have a life. Whatever the reason, I think the lower the ratings, the better. I think that all cable news, including both CNN and Fox, is absolutely horrible.

You can tell which ones because they'll always say, "I bet you got that from (insert the other). Cable news is the worst.

@StumpTownStu
Try telling the sponsors that low ratings are good. You know, the ones who help fund the stations. After all, the media predominately driven by ratings. Just like the BS headlines that you read, most are fabricated and exaggerated to gain clicks because clicks generate add revenue which keep the outlets running. The name of the game isn't "news", it's "views" and "clicks".
I think CNN ratings are low because the left leaning sites are diluted and viewers are jumping ship for the reasons you stated. I don't watch any cable news, I just read articles and take them as a grain of salt until I have more time to research the subject.

Cable news was extremely biased and tabloid like to begin with but since the proliferation of internet based news has forced them to adopt this "click" based business model, it has gotten downright disgusting. It's insane.

Exactly. Which is why people don't believe what the media is telling them. From the left and the right. IMO that is causing more damage and IMO "media" should be held accountable for the miss information and instead of a single retraction, they should have multiple retractions per incorrect publishing. Media should be held in higher standards than people on twtr or fb. It's not about accuracy anymore, it's about speed and being the first even if that means you're wrong sometimes.

I still like 60 Minutes & PBS' News Hour.
I know 60 Minutes spends much more time researching a topic than the daily news shows but I still find it educational & I love watching executives/politicians crap their britches when they see one of their reporters headed in their direction.
We can't take anything we hear on the news as "gold." It's incumbent on us to research what we hear & separate fact from opinion.

If it's about Views & Clicks... CNN has 12.7 million Youtube subs, Fox News has 7.69 million.

I can't understand why anyone watches this sensationalized propaganda..
Cable news sucks ...Why would anyone brag about ratings or admit they watch this trash ??
Fox is literally brainwashing their viewers not to get vaccinated and resist vaccine passports when all of their talking head morons are vaccinated and required to log in to a vaccine passport system on a daily basis...

@BWS77
So fox has less subs on youtube. Guess who gets more clicks per video?
Look at the CNN page, guess what videos get the most clicks? ANYTHING THAT MENTIONS TRUMP by at least a 2-1 margin. Why do people still care about Trump when he's not in office any more? Maybe CNN viewers are full of hatred and CNNs only chance at survival is to mention Trump so people can get their hate fuel for the day.
Maybe CNNs subs are bot accounts like the BS that twitter pulls so "influencers" appear more popular and credible. Or maybe people just don't want to view their content anymore.
