Not a single Democratic member of the House voted Thursday in favor of legislation that would ban male athletes from competing in girl’s sports.
The bill passed along party lines with 219 Republicans voting in favor and 203 Democrats voting against.
The House measure seeks to amend federal law so that “sex shall be recognized based solely on a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth,” in order to determine Title IX athletics compliance. Title IX mandates that institutions that receive public funding from the federal government cannot discriminate on the basis of sex.
Disgusting that every dem would vote against this........pure partisanship.

Exactly right, MUGG. Dems support this type of nonsense. Every Republican candidate next year should use should use this against Dems ; "what happened to women's rights ? "
Took the words out of my mouth. I got to stop visiting this forum. It's almost worse than watching the news. Ignorance is totally bliss. Rather not even know how bad this country is swirling down the toilet bowl. I literally had to leave Minneapolis because of the extreme liberal politics and the inability to even attempt to reach middle ground. I am in Arizona now and flooded with Californians with similar repulsive ideology.
Case in point. I am getting married next month and my bride's step-sister is engaged to a trans. She who wasn't to be called he intends to get impregnated and carry the baby to term. No one in the family seems to see anything wrong with this. Which is fine I am of the opinion let them screw up their own family if they want. I won't but in. Not my business. But I am shocked no one person thought hmmm this might not be the best idea and hard for a child to explain to his or her friends one day. In either event where I had the serious problem was that her step-sister didn't want to be a bridesmaid. Rather she wanted to be a groomsman and dress as a man. When I explained to her that I already have my groomsman she threw the most pretentious fit you could imagine. Claiming that she and her trans fiancé are not coming because we don't support their life choices and we can't keep her fiancé safe. I was like is this tantamount to needing a safe room on my wedding day. Insane. To make matters more insane my fiancés family actually supported this proposition on our wedding day. My god people this isn't about you but us and you should be happy we chose to share it with you. Liberals don't see it that way. It's like a disease. There is no other way to put it.

I always say you have to respect the Left's ability to unite better than the Right on issues. Not saying I agree with it -- just saying they do it better to achieve what they want or to support their agenda. They also are much lesser willing to speak out against the running narrative at the time or to upset their more radical members.
The Right will not always unite on issues or even candidates. They tend to speak out against their own more and question the promoted narrative at the time.

@THEMUGG
This is not that surprising at all to me.

@jesron1269 I am curious what your fiancee said about it and what she said to her family. Wow. That is a unique situation to start a marriage out with.
While she is a lot more liberal than me, she definitely has acclimated to my politics, and I am much more vocal about it and active regarding it then she is. That being said she was likewise appalled. Its mind blowing how some people feel if you are not rolling out the red carpet and satisfying their every request/need you must be a bigot, racist, or in this case homophobic or anti-trans. Man has the world shifted.

And sorry to belly up to the bar on this GOP party but when I read the thread title my first thought was "tell me more" not what every other person in this thread said. You guys label the party by the extremes and so does the left towards your GOP group, I dont see it that way. If I want sensational nonsense then I will look at the ticker on ANY news station or go to that goofball ZH website for sensational idiot time, its never black and white as you read on a ticker or a headline.
I would rather ask what the details are, why every DEM voted the same way, and I guarantee it has NOTHING to do with the sole trans issue, nothing at all because to get 100% support it would not be due to this topic only. So swing and a miss on this topic for me.

I am admittedly disconnected from the Hill but we don't know that it isn't 100% solidarity with the trans issue. I can assure you things were in motion on this topic for decades through the Democratic party. They might finally have the right group or a damn good party whip who can keep everyone in line. But yes none of know exactly what is going on and we are all speculating. But I wouldn't rule out that this has to do with the trans issue.
