blah blah blah. Its amazing people are complaining about high prices, yet they have enough money to set travel records and going to the movies over Thanksgiving shattered the previous record box office money of 315 million in 2018 with this years record of 420 million. I would think that if people are complaining about high food prices , rent prices, utilities etc etc they wouldnt be out spending their money on entertainment. No problem filling football stadiums and concerts either. It appears people are doing better then they were told to believe. I guess if trump says high prices over and over again, the people believe the bullshit even thou they know its not true.
Also amazon is so busy they cant even get your packages delivered in 1-2 days, now everything is 5 or more. Wonder if that dirtbag bezos will refund people paying for prime membership and now not getting prime membership. I will hold my breath waiting for my refund

Problem is that people think about their personal experience instead of the country when asked about the economy. There are always some people worse off or better off at any time in boom and bust periods. Unlike economists, low information voters don't follow news or data to understand the big picture. They are detached from reality of strong US economy with low inflation and unemployment.

Its a political scheme to validate the vote people want to make even if the candidate is lacking in other areas. Inflation has been part of our economy since the 1970s and especially the 1980s, this is not any different than what we have experienced in the past. The only segment in the grocery store that does not "seem" to experience inflation is milk, that is due to government subsidy and that masks the true inflation there too.
I just paid 2.70 for gas, pretty much in line with pricing over the last 15 years but if you talk to a GOP voter, gas prices are crippling the country and we will solve the problem with their guy in the seat..yeah that is how it works.
If we want less inflation for consumer goods and services there are a few ways to accomplish it, mainly zero interest costs so corps can fund operations with little finance expense or holding costs, suppress labor costs and automate/offshore production to lower costs, work out supply chain kinks and find alternative ways around JIT inventory models this means corps have to hold more raw goods/parts in inventory.
The one way consumers REFUSE to lower inflation is from the demand side, people want their cheap goods they do not want to sacrifice or put off purchases and reduce demand. If you want to take control over your own personal inflation then reduce consumption and make sacrifices. Lazy political blaming is what most choose to do and this will continue as it is human nature to do so.

USAToday Feb 2024; Credit card debt, the amount owed by all Americans on their credit cards, rose to a record $1.13 trillion at the end of last year, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York reported Tuesday.
The U.S. economy is doing well overall, New York Fed researchers said, but areas exist in which Americans are overextended. Higher prices for food, gas and housing contribute to credit card debt.
The increases in card debt show higher financial stress "especially among younger and lower-income households,” said Wilbert van der Klaauw, a Fed economic research adviser, the Associated Press reported.
CBS NEWS Aug 2024; U.S. consumers collectively owe a record $1.14 trillion in credit card debt, figures released Tuesday by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York show. That's $27 billion more than the $1.13 trillion in credit card debt they carried during the second quarter of 2024. The high tally comes amid concerns of an economic downturn triggered by modestly rising unemployment, and as soaring costs in food, housing and auto rates continue to drain household budgets. Americans have increasingly been relying on credit cards to make ends meet, with 6 in 10 adults, or 60%, using credit cards to buy groceries in 2023, according to a May report by the Urban Institute.
CNBC Nov 2024; Credit card debt has remained stable over the last two decades; however, in the years since the pandemic, households largely spent down their excess savings, which sparked a rebound in credit card balances. Consumer spending continues to remain strong, despite high borrowing costs. (Notice how they say since the pandemic and not since Biden took office)
In the last three months, 42% of Americans said their total debt hasn’t changed, while 28% of have seen their debt rise, according to another survey by Achieve, which helps consumers manage debt.
Of the latter group, most said the increase was due to the ongoing difficulty of making ends meet.

good to hear you are not one of the poors out there
love it when theatre box office gross revenues are used as year to year comparisons when everyone knows the per ticket prices have just steadily increased over time.
Random person....."Box office gross are $120mm more than they were 6 years ago, look how many more people are going out to the movies these days"
Me...."you do realize the per ticket price is more responsible for the increase than the number of people going out to the movies right?"
Them...."silence".
The number of movie tickets sold hasn't even returned to pre-covid levels.
So yes, the more affluent are living their lives and there is nothing wrong with that, it is the poors who continue to suffer.

The "poors" now are not the "poors" of my upbringing, the poorest in this country would be middle class during my childhood. I still have the mentality of my upbring even though I am not well below the average income levels like back then.
People want to blame someone else for their decisions and choices, on the topic of movies I refuse to spend the ticket prices for the slop being put out. Ive been to one movie theater showing in the last three years because if I am shelling out 50 bucks for a ticket and some popcorn it has to be a top tier quality production and I wont go otherwise.
I also drive a 15 yr old car and clip coupons, just the same way as when I was brought up..people are impacted by prices much more severely when they are not taking control over their purchase and decisions.
The poors in the US are nothing like the poors in the rest of the world. Even the most extreme poverty we have here is very different than what MANY experience and live with. I consider my poverty upbringing to be fortunate when I see what others have to live and the risks of harm that many experience.

I share those sentiments.....same as going to an NFL game. Give me my living room, TV and some split screen RedZone and I'll take that over nearly any stadium experience at the cost of a mortgage payment.

Well lets see, if people got more credit card debt to pay for needed things like your post says, maybe these people need to learn to balance their own finances. Maybe if they werent out blowing a weeks paycheck to go to 1 football game, they wouldnt have to use their credit cards to pay bills. Inflation is everybodys own back. LEARN HOW TO MANAGE MONEY. Like the clowns who spend 5-10 dollars a day on coffee, instead of making it at home. Yet these same people will cry like the world is ending if the price of eggs goes up 50 cents

I am glad you speak for everyone. Just another example of what the world has come to despise. An ivory tower Democrat telling you what you should feel or telling you how you should live. No Mr. Kool-Aide Man not everyone is doing better. I see it in my practice. There is a level of desperation the past four years (especially the past two) that I haven't seen in the 20+ years of law practice. I would advise live in your bubble and stop making generalizations because shocker you don't know what everyone is going through nor speak for them (thankful for that).

"The one way consumers REFUSE to lower inflation is from the demand side, people want their cheap goods they do not want to sacrifice or put off purchases and reduce demand. If you want to take control over your own personal inflation then reduce consumption and make sacrifices."
Wholly agree.
The 2.69 gas is definitely also more helpful than 3.49

@cd329 You can't generalize someone going to a football game and relate it to EVERYONE in the US.
Not 1 football game, try tons of them happening all across the country. I know if i couldnt afford bread then i certainly wouldnt be spending my money on entertainment, this includes all the gamblers losing their money weekly then crying about the price of gas. You can try to spin your trump shit all you want, but it wont work with me. Your guy cult leader won, why still here arguing with us losers? Its cause trumpers just love stirring up shit. Let us losers cry in peace.

@cd329 I am glad you speak for everyone. I would advise live in your bubble and stop making generalizations because shocker you don't know what everyone is going through nor speak for them (thankful for that).
once again more nonsense. No am not living in any ivory tower and just a middle class family. What i do, do is not buy things i cant afford and use my money to pay for things i need to pay for. Maybe people should start being pissed off at the real people who are causing the high prices that put a hurt on people. CORPORATIONS ARE RIPPING ALL OF US BIGTIME. They are not charging us more because they need to pay their own bills, they are doing it so they can make record profits. So excuse me mr big time lawyer, but thanks for your opinion of me that you nothing about. Just another reason why people dont like lawyers.

@cd329 good to hear you are not one of the poors out there love it when theatre box office gross revenues are used as year to year comparisons when everyone knows the per ticket prices have just steadily increased over time. Random person....."Box office gross are $120mm more than they were 6 years ago, look how many more people are going out to the movies these days" Me...."you do realize the per ticket price is more responsible for the increase than the number of people going out to the movies right?" Them...."silence". The number of movie tickets sold hasn't even returned to pre-covid levels. So yes, the more affluent are living their lives and there is nothing wrong with that, it is the poors who continue to suffer.
kc, you really dont need to respond to my posts, because i dont give a rats ass about anything you post. Your just a hardcore trumper and i have no use for these people. So save yourself the time of writing posts to me. Amazing your cult leader won, yet you still want to come argue with us democrat losers. Mind boggling, you would think that you could use your time better. I guess not

Right. You know "ivory tower" doesn't mean wealthy. It can. But it means someone who thinks they have moral superiority. Which you do. In every one of your posts. You don't even know what law I practice. You make assumptions. I am a lifetime public defender. I help people who have no where else to go. I directly see the impact policies have made on people. The petty crimes have gone up 400% or more based on my very specific observations in my practice. Those types of crimes hardly existed 4 years ago. Why petty crimes because when people are desperate, they do desperate things. Ohhh and here is a hoot. Ask yourself this, why didn't your buddy Biden tax the corporations more since they are ripping us all off? Why didn't they redistribute that wealth in forms of a middle to lower class tax break. You and I both know the answer to that question.
